Minna, watch out for all the amAZING dialogue throughout done completely by the amazing Miss McMoon! *grins and winks at Grace* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~&~~~~~~~~~~~~~@ Prologue: Serena trudged wearily to the arcade after school. It was late, late in the afternoon. Miss Haruna had kept her after class to yell at her about her last failed test. The worst of it was that she had actually studied really hard for this one! But she failed it all the same and Miss Haruna said it was the last straw, she was calling her parents and she threatened to flunk her for the year! Serena hung her head. ~Why am I so stupid? Even when I study I'm dumb! Why can't I be good at anything?~ She pushed the door to the arcade open--she was in no hurry to go home and face the wrath of her parents. Andrew looked up from behind the counter, "Hey Serena!" then he noticed her face and the suspicious looking paper clutched in her hand. He frowned, "What's the matter?" She pulled up on a stool in front of the counter and laid the test out for him. "Flunked another one." she said dully, "Only this time, I actually studied. Now I know I really am stupid!" Tears burned at the corners of her eyes. "Serena that's not tru-" "Hey Meatballhead! Flunk any tests today?" The dreaded enemy's voice cut in from behind her. Andrew shot him a warning look of disapproval but it was too late. Far too late. "AS A MATTER OF FACT YES! I DID DARIEN! ARE YOU HAPPY NOW? I'M STUPID OKAY?! I CAN'T DO ANYTHING!" And with that she flew out the door, crumpled test paper in hand. Darien stared after her flabbergasted. "Whoa." he said softly. Andrew came up beside him, "Man Dare, she actually studied for this one but she flunked anyways. You shouldn't be so rough on her. She already has no confidence in herself." Darien felt terrible. He left quickly to find her and apologize. ~I shouldn't tease her at all! What's wrong with me? Poor Serena. Where would she go? ~ He thought a moment and knew it was the park. He couldn't have said how he knew, but he was sure. He trusted his gut and soon found her on a park bench in a secluded corner. Roses bloomed around a silver fountain. The fountain depicted a princess with long flowing hair clutching the hands of a Prince that knelt before her. He shook off an eerie feeling of deja vu and returned his gaze to Serena. She had fallen asleep on the bench, test paper in hand, tears still wet on her cheeks. He felt guilt wash over him in waves and shame settled hotly in his stomach. ~I'm such a jerk.~ He sat down next to her and moved to wake her when the test paper caught his eye. He gingerly pulled it from her grasp and smoothed it out to read it. He read through the entire test with surprise. Serena had gotten every question right and then scratched out the right answer and done it wrong! Every question started with the right answer and was then replaced with wrong ones! ~She is smart! She just doesn't believe in herself!~ He felt anger flare in his heart, ~What kind of teacher wouldn't notice this and point it out to her? What kind of teacher wouldn't encourage and tutor a student struggling instead of constantly giving them detention?~ He made up his mind to find this teacher and ask her just that. He looked back over at Serena and sighed. Her face looked so troubled. She really thought she was hopelessly stupid. He reached around her to tuck the test in her school bag but in the process his arm fell around her and she turned and settled quite comfortably against the nook below his shoulder. He looked down at her with surprise and found that after he had tucked the test away he could not free his arm. She murmured something softy in her sleep and as he relaxed another wave of deja vu washed over him. He looked down at Serena's sleeping face and found himself watching her for some time. Her big blue eyes buttoned closed, the soft sound of her breathing. She was terribly cute, he had to admit. Why else would he tease her so much? He shook his head, ~I won't tease her anymore......I promise....~ And without realizing, he drifted off to sleep himself. His head slipping over to rest on top of hers. A strange silence fell over the park and the fountain let an eerie mist creep over the two. Slowly, a silver light enveloped them..... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~&~~~~~~~~~~@ One thousand years into the past......(the Silver Millenium!) Serena was the first to wake. Yawning and stretching to find herself on a silver bench in the arms of....Darien? She jumped up and looked wildly from him to the scenery. Was it Darien? He was dressed like a......like a Prince! And where were they? These gardens were NOT the park! "What's going on!" she yelped, waking Darien. He took one look at her and jumped up too. "Who are you?! What's going on?! Where am I?!" She frowned, "What do you mean who am I Darien? I'm Serena!" He stopped short and focused solely on her, "S-Serena?" He said stepping closer. "Yes!" she said impatiently, "And why are you dressed like that?" He looked down at his armor and jumped, "What the--?" Then Serena chanced to look down at her own attire and choked back a shriek. "Why am I wearing this dress?" He looked back to her, "I've got a better question. Why is your hair silver?!" She pulled up one of her pigtails and looked at it before fainting dead away. Darien ran to catch her. "Serena? Serena! Wake up!" Her eyes fluttered open. She looked around and choked back a sob. "It wasn't a dream....where are we?" she practically whispered, her voice ripe with fear. "I don't know." he replied in bewilderment. He looked at her closely, the silver hair, the moon on her forehead.....why did this seem...familiar? (AN: Princess in your DREAMS maybe Darien?) He shook his head to clear it and pulled her gently up. "C'mon, let's look around and see if we can figure out what happened!" They walked slowly through the silvery gardens, both struck by an uncanny sense of familiarity. "Where are we?" she asked again, more to herself then anyone. They reached a clearing and stopped short with a mutual gasp. "Is that......earth?" she faltered, looking out into the sky at it. Darien stared shocked at it, "I think so....." Then he looked down, "Serena look!" The Kingdom lay before them. Silver palace and all. "What planet are we on?" she choked. "I think the moon...." he breathed. "That looks like a palace." she said fearfully, "And we look like a....." "...Prince and Princess." he finished, his eyes wide. "Darien...what's going on?" she whimpered. He gazed at her with sympathy and reached out instinctively. "Don't worry," he soothed into her now silver hair. She clung to him fiercely, trying not to cry. Just then footsteps broke the silence. Darien and Serena tensed. A figure emerged from the bushes and flowers, her long golden hair flowing behind her beautiful yellow dress. "M-Mina?" gasped Serena. "Sorry you two! I know you like to be alone up here!" she giggled, "But I just had to come congratulate you! They just announced it unofficially in the hall!" She grabbed Serena's hand gently, "Ohhh, let me see the ring." And to Serena's great surprise, there was in fact a ring on her finger. A beautiful silver ring with a diamond moon against a silver earth. She caught her breath. It was magnificent. "Perfect! Perfect! Oh Prince Endymion, you do have exquisite taste!" Darien's mouth fell open, ~Endymion?!~ "I just know you two will be happy together! And I am the Princess of Venus, the planet of Love! I know what I am talking about!" she laughed, "Well, I'd best be going! See you both at the ball tonight! Congratulations Princess!" Serena managed to nod although the word Princess was echoing strangely in repetition for her. She turned to face a very white faced Darien. "Your name is....Endymion?" She faltered. ~And Mina's the Princess of Venus?~ "A Prince?" he said, mostly to himself, then he looked at her, "And we're....engaged?" "What do we do now?" She said softy........ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~&~~~~~~~~~@ ohhhhhhh suspense minna! Quick now, go and read Gracie-chan's chapter kay? kay.
