She was about to jump when strong arms encased her. Surprised and angered, she yelped, kicking and screaming but the hold was still firm. Who had saved her and most importantly, why? Giving up, her fighting subsided. She dared not to look at the stranger who had saved her. Tears threatened to come out of her eyes. She did not turn around but simply said, "Why?" She could tell that the person was hesitating and finally a deep male voice replied, "I couldn't let you do that to yourself kirei usagi. I would go crazy wondering what would have happened if I hadn't stopped you and I would forever live in guilt," The man dragged Serena away from the cliff and released his hold on her. Serena straightened and balanced herself. Slowly, she turned around and faced the stranger. Rather, faced his massive muscular chest. She slowly looked up from his chest to his neck to his face. Shocked and awed she almost fainted. It was the infamous Prince Endymion of the Earth Kingdom. His Midnight black hair fell across his forehead making him more handsome than ever. His deep blue eyes, emotionally well hidden, held hers. His jaw was strong like that of his fathers but not as firm. He was a couple of inches taller than Serena, who was extremely tall for a girl, and very well built. Once Serena regained composure, She gracefully bowed. In her most soft and innocent voice she said, "I'm sorry for startling you your highness, umm.. I was stretching my legs and you must have mistaken me for doing something else," The end of her explanation was rushed and her perceptively shaking. Endymion arched his eyebrow. The infamous look that could make any woman or girl swoon. The look he used to lift and drop a girl's spirits. And it was mocking Serena. Serena blushed and looked down. "Well, usagi, I saw your face and it was pretty obvious. I'm not stupid you know and it's very impolite to lie to a clever prince like me," he grinned at her. A devilish grin that he obviously must have practiced in the mirror, Serena thought. She inwardly swooned but kept her face down. He was very cocky, so full of himself. The thought made her feel a little more comfortable and a little more herself. She lifted a mocking eyebrow, identical to the princes mannerism and haughtily replied, "Well, Your highness, why are you here in the first place? Aren't you supposed to be at the castle? And why are you talking to a peasant like me?" Suddenly, almost unnoticeable, Endymon's eyes turned a shade of icy blue. He glared at Serena. "First of all, I can go where ever I want, any time I want. Second, I talk to anyone I care to talk to no matter status or reputation," Gaining composure, his eyes were restored to their original color. He smiled. "Third, you of all people should know not to get smart with me," he cockishly retorted. Angry and confused by the change of emotions in Endymon's eyes, Serena replied, frustrated, "What ever. Just leave me alone all right? I didn't ask you to save me. I would be much happier if you hadn't become the prince in shining armor. I would be-" tears welled up in her eyes. Angry with herself for letting emotions show so much she bowed her head down and started to walk away. Her walk transformed into a mild run and was about to evolve into a sprint when a strong hand encircled her wrist. Endymion pulled her back to him. He leaned down to her height and looked into her eyes. His face inched closer to hers. 'He's going to kiss me' she thought. Then he stopped and whispered to her, "I will not allow you to kill yourself. You intrigue me chisai usagi. How can I allow you to kill yourself when I don't know a thing about the kirei usagi that has caught my eye," His mouth was very close to hers. She studied it. It was set in an arrogant smirk and was delectable. What am I thinking, Serena thought to herself. To her surprise, the prince pulled back. He grinned and took both her wrists in his hands. He pulled up her left hand, encircled it with his, and kissed each fingertip. Serenity felt like she was on a cloud. His scent enveloped her senses and she wouldn't dare pull her hand away from the tingling sensations and the fluttering of her stomach. HE slowly released her hand. He took one last look at her hand and strode away. Then turned back. HE looked into her eyes, reading every raw thought and whispered in the faintest voice, "Until we meet again!" and left a dazed Serena. Serena left the waterfall with a jumble of things on her mind. Her first priority was to get her stuff from her house. She walked along the shortcut to her house and stepped in. As she entered her house the first thing that she noticed was the cat. It was purple with a crescent moon on its forehead. The cat's eyes were huge, red, and very intelligent. It was perched on the still standing wooden chair next to the Maranilan Carpet that Serena favored. One paw was situated on top of the other in the beginnings of a leisurely stretch. The cat looked at Serena and then sat down in a comfortable position.
