Don't You Forget About Me by Ori ((Ori_author@hotmail.com)) Rating: PG for thematic elements Notes: Alt first season. Scouts prolly won't really exist in this one. Erm. Oh yeah! This is not a "Serena hates the Scouts" story. Promise. Thanks to Neko and First Love if they post this! ^_^ Disclaimer: Wonderful people own SM. I am not one of those people. Revolution. She knew it was time. There would be no more telling her what to do, how to do it. And most of all, there would be no more ignoring. The night before Usagi had cut her long blond hair to chin length and dyed it raven black. Well, the tube said "raven black." To Usagi, it was more dull than Rei's, but she let that fact slide. She had also pierced her right ear three more times going up the side. She had wanted to die from the pain. . .but she bore it as well as she could. Finally, she had dyed many of her clothes different shades of black and cut them into rags. That morning, Usagi dressed quickly, donning the rags, not brushing her hair, and loading on the black, heavy eye makeup. You would have never know that *She* had once been Sailor Moon. Granted, she could still become Sailor Moon, the fire had simply gone out. Usagi sighed, grasped her overstuffed purse and walked out the front door of her house and headed for Saturday detention. The walk was lonely as it always was. Nothing but freedom ran through her mind. As soon as she completed this second phase of rebellion, she would be free. Following the few other students who appeared to be headed for detention as well, Usagi entered the library and flopped down on one of the back tables. From there, she got a good view of all those lucky people stuck with her. Her gaze first fell on. . .well, she had forgotten his name. It was that nerd guy who she only saw in between classes. Then there was. .Minako! Usagi almost blew her cover. If she had known one of her former best friends was going to be here. .she would have skipped the step of the plan. Her gaze moved to Rubeus. He was a wild one. Always in trouble. . .kinda fun, in a weird twisted sort of way. She glanced down. Maybe not so weird anymore. Finally, there was Mamoru. At first she couldn't believe her eyes. The handsome jock she had always had a crush on was also stuck in detention! It was almost fitting that fate would give her one last chance to see him. Mr. H, the principal, entered and gave strict instructions as to what was to happen. Usagi knew better. No one would follow them. . .except maybe that nerd. She sighed and pulled out some paper. It was going to be a long day. Within the hour, Minako had walked back to Usagi's table to try and initiate a conversation with the only other girl. "Hi! I'm Minako, the *most* popular girl here at Azabu! I don't think I've ever seen you here before. Who are you? And why are you, like, in detention?" There was no response. Usagi stared back at her with an expression as cold as ice. Minako got up in a huff. "No one talk to that girl. . .she's so..Unsociable!" Mamoru scowled at her. "Minako, shut up. No one wants to hear anymore of your useless drivel. She's probably a thousand times smarter than you and just doesn't want to waste brain cells by talking to you." As Usagi's heart warmed slightly, the nerd looked up. "Frankly, that's not possible."Mamoru glared. "Frankly, I don't give a damn." From the back of the room, Rubeus chuckled. "Now now, children. Hostility. We musn't forget that we're *all* friends in this wonderfully cozy library!" Usagi spoke up. "Yeah. About as happy as I would be in the seventh circle of hell." Four heads spun back to look at her. She met each of their gazes with a defiant look. She dared any of them to try and bring her down...just to try.
