Name: Sakura Girl E-mail: alicefan@misystems.cnchost.com Rating: PG Disclaimer: The characters in that wonderful anime/manga title, Sailor Moon, do NOT belong to me whatsoever (sadly… ~sigh~)! The amazingly clever Naoko Takeuchi may take all credit, so please, don't file any unneeded (totally unneeded!) lawsuits against me for simply "borrowing" these Sailor Moon people for my story! Fallen Angel: Part Four By Sakura Girl "Damn!" he cursed angrily. The young blonde whom had just been at his side a few short moments ago had pretty much disappeared into utter oblivion. The chances of finding her now was pretty slim, but still… Darien was incredibly determined to find the angel-like creature, even if it took him the rest of the day. He would find her. Serena curiously sauntered down the streets of Tokyo, acting very much like a little kitten lost in a mountain of yarn balls. Unfortunately, for her, a good group of people also noticed her apparent confused state of mind. But then again, it wasn’t very easy to NOT notice the bare-footed little beauty walking down Tokyo dressed the way she was. In fact, perhaps only the blind would be protected from the ethereal fairy princess in white… As she continued her little adventure down the busy streets of honking cars and bustling people, she failed to notice the menacing figure that had been following her for the past ten minutes. Darien continued his search somewhat dejectedly. He knew the feat he was attempting was just as probable as meeting a fallen angel from heaven up above. He couldn’t quite comprehend why exactly he was so intent upon finding Serena, for some strange reason, he felt that he was in charge of her well being. He wanted to protect her innocence from the big, bad world, he wanted to shelter her from the harm others would induce upon her…he wanted to… ‘Gods, what was wrong with him? He was acting like some infatuated schoolboy! He was displaying emotions for a man in love… Something which he DEFINITELY was NOT… Or was he?’ Ever since that blue-eyed angel entered his life (which was for no more than an hour or so…much to his dismay…), things got…complicated. He couldn’t explain it if his life depended upon it. As a man of science, he refused to believe in love at first sight, but…then what WAS this light-hearted emotion he felt everything his thoughts turned to his Serena. ‘Whoa, Darien! Back up for a sec, since WHEN exactly did you start considering Serena…mine?’ he shook his head in weak attempt to banish any remaining thoughts of his blonde headed friend from his already confused mind. Well, he supposed the sooner he found that blasted girl, the sooner his troubles would be resolved… Now…the only simple question in mind was WHERE the hell was she? She glanced back and saw a mop of dirty wheat-colored headed and a pair of vicious looking gray eyes. She had accidentally wandered herself into a rather barren area of the city. She couldn’t help but feel slightly nervous at the foreign, yet disturbing, glint within the stranger’s eyes… ‘Darien’s eyes are much nicer… So blue, and so good…’ she immediately brushed that embarrassing musing of hers. Serena swiftly turned to face the tall man who had been pursuing her. As she opened her mouth to say something, a rough hand suddenly clamped down upon her. Another clutched her dainty waist into his ironclad arm and dragged her writhing and kicking self off to a dark, desolate alley not many dared to venture. Darien was at wits end by the time he reached the seemingly empty area of Tokyo. He let out a sigh of defeat before finally realizing the fact that he would not be seeing that pretty young woman for a rather lengthy period of time. He quickly trudged back to the well-known area of the Japanese capitol, giving up entirely on the idea of meeting Serena ever again. ‘Stop! That hurts… Why are you doing this? I never did anything… Stop! Please stop!’ she sobbed inwardly. Though her silent cries were quickly banished by a hard hit on the head from the fist of her attacker. Serena blacked out right before the blonde male ripped off some of the fine fabric from her silk garb. "Stop right there! What exactly do you think you’re doing?" a strange figure appeared out of nowhere, a cold glint gleamed in the threatening green eyes. When the dirty blonde realized that his criminal offense had been foiled, he quickly ran away fearing involvement of the law. The brown-headed figure took a step forward, contemplating whether or not to chase after the sick pervert. But once the stormy sea of green laid itself upon the unconscious form of the poor, beaten girl, the brunette decided otherwise. When Darien had finally returned to the hospital, he discovered that for the first time in his life, he was actually late for work. ‘Shit.’ He regretted wasting all that pointless time searching for that damned girl all afternoon, it was totally unlike him to put recreation before work! The minute he had set foot into the giant sick house, secretaries, nurses, doctors, and other people of various sorts began to bombard him with their problems. He wasn’t at all overwhelmed, contrary to what one may think. He smoothly took the issues on one by one, not even pausing for a breath. But what else was one to expect from the highly efficient and very reliable, get-the-job-done-and-get-out-of-my-face Darien Chiba? After all, this was all routine, this stressful environment revolved around Mr. Chiba every single day of his life…he most certainly was very well adjusted to it. He had to be. He put on his reading glasses as he attempted to explain the new policy for open-heart surgery procedures. But for some reason, he found it very difficult to concentrate upon what he was saying. For his mind wasn’t focusing upon what one was to do if the patient ever lapsed in respiring during operation, but instead, his mind was helplessly lingering upon Serena. Oh, how her beautiful blue orbs of eternal bliss had glistened at him… How her creamy complexion would always tint of the slightest rosy-hue every time he had complimented her on any varied subjects. And…how she… ‘Oh gods… I’m turning into some lovesick fool! I refuse to allow any type of pretty face to have such an impeccable hold over me…’ with that newly found determination, he managed to resume the presentation without… too much difficulty. The badly beaten blonde was currently lying upon a small hospital bed, though she had felt that it was quite unnecessary. However, the doctors at Juuban District had insisted upon her stay, for fear the she may have a concussion or something of the sort. She was really quite shaken from the whole ordeal (who wouldn’t be?) with her would-be rapist if her "savior" hadn’t come in the nick of time. "Are you alright?" the brunette asked gently. "I…I think so… But…you! Are you alright?" Serena stammered softly. "Aw, don’t worry about me! I didn’t even get to throw a punch…" for some strange reason, the green eyes seemed to have an air of disappointment in them, "So…what’s your name, blondie?" Serena was a bit taken by her new nickname, but answered just the same, "…I’m…Serena… M-may I ask what I ought to address you by?" The brunette grinned, "Gee, you’re awful proper aren’t ya? My name’s… Lita (are you shocked to the core? Were you totally NOT expecting THAT? Did you think Serena’s savior would be a hunky man instead of dear, old Lita? Yes? No? No? No. Oh. Well, can’t say I didn’t try! ~grins~). I’ll be back, I’ve got some…business to attend to… Nice meeting ya, Serena!" With that, Serena’s new friend disappeared behind the large metal door, and she was left all alone once more. ‘I wish Mr. Darien were here…’
