For The First Time(Part Four)

Usagi's face paled as she turned around to see Mamoru looking at her
with a caring look on his face. He looked so sweet. It was like she 
was the one he was in love with. But he had Kumiko and she had no one.
Getting up shakily with her hand being supported as she held on to 
Rei's bed she stood up and wiped her eyes.
"Are you alright Usako?", He asked and his hand slowly made it's way 
over to her silky blonde hair as he smoothed her hair down. "You're
so pale" It wasn't like she wasn't feeling well or anything. Her 
nerves were frazzled and the pain in her heart was strong. It's 
weighed her down and made her knees shake. Oh God she was so 
humiliated.
"I-I-I'm fine. It's just I was so upset since....since Takeo broke 
up with me", She finally responded. Her eyes filled with tears of 
pain and she wiped them away. "I'm sorry Mamo-chan. I'm just upset, 
I'll be fine" Usagi sat on the bed and he sat next to her. Putting 
an arm around her he held her comfortingly, rubbing her arm and she 
leaned her head against him. "I saw you Mamo-chan. With Kumiko." She 
sighed sadly. "You are truly a beautiful couple"
"Not anymore", Mamoru answered and she looked up in surprise. Was 
that happiness he saw in her eyes? "We broke up. She was in love 
with someone else"
"How could anyone NOT be in love with you?", Usagi said and looked at 
him. For a moment it was quiet and the silence seemed deadly for she
desperately needed to not be so close him. Not now. But her mind was
blank. Rei somehow saw this dilemma from where she stood in the door 
unnoticed and let out a cough. Usagi jumped at the sound. "I've gotta 
go"
"Let me walk you home", Mamoru declared jumping up from his seat. She 
nodded with a somewhat dreadful yet joyful feeling in her. "You can
tell me about why you're so upset about Takeo" As they left the room,
she caught Rei's teasing eyes and saw one word in them. LIAR.

Walking....no STUMBLING down the stairs Usagi made her way into the
kitchen where her family was enjoying their lunch. Yes she had over-
slept again. Thank God from Saturday. 
"Must...get...food...now", Usagi said tiredly as she struggled to
keep her head. After a few struggling seconds she gave up-THUMP,
her head hit the table.
"Usagi, get up! You have to help me today with the picnic food", Ikuko
 told her unconscious daughter. "I'm making potato salad, fried chicken
and a chocolate cake"
"I will...", Usagi told her half talking, half snoring.
"You go ahead and sleep", Her mother said with an easy smile. "I'm 
sure Mamoru will be happy that he's not getting food poisoning" At the
sound of his name her head shot up. Ikuko gave a nod at her husband 
who raised his eyebrows. Perhaps his wife's suspicions were true.
"WE'RE GOING WITH THE CHIBAS?!" She was wide awake now. "Please tell me
you're lying" Her voice was weak, how would she take a whole day being
beside Mamoru? Oh no. It was a disaster waiting to happen. Her parents
didn't seem to mind. Ikuko placed a potato in front of her daughter.
"Well get peeling", Ikuko said but instead Usagi let her face fall 
again in a THUMP. How would she survive? Instead of screaming, she 
squealed pitifully as her face was flat on the table.

Walking slowly over the small, rolling green hill Usagi held the bowl
in her hands with an iron grip. If she dropped this plate in front
everyone she would personally shoot herself. Mamoru waved at her with
Kyoko at his feet. He wore a pair of khakis and white shirt tucked into
them. Mamoru had sure gotten muscular since he was child, of course
the last time she had seen Mamoru when she was a child, he was gangly
and a little...wimpy looking. Kyoko ran to her and grabbed her leg.
"Usagi!", Kyoko shouted and it pleased Usagi to see that Kyoko's hair
were in little buns like hers. It was adorable.
"Hey kid! I love you hair" Usagi remarked as she lifted the girl in
her arms. It was very obvious that Kyoko admired Usagi as much as
she adored Mamoru.
"Mamo did it", Kyoko responded and Mamoru turned bright red. He 
reminded himself to later explain to Kyoko now to mention his 
hairdressing ways.
He had only done it cause Maeko was too busy to do it and Kyoko had 
begged to have the same "Odangos" as her beloved pretend sister Usagi.
"He did, did he?", Usagi said and raised her eyebrows at him. "He did
a good job" As she put Kyoko down there eyes met. 
"You feeling better?", He asked and her face relaxed into soft smile.
She nodded and her knees began to grow a teeny bit weak-
"KISSY!", Kyoko yelled suddenly getting the attention of the grown ups.
The Chibas and the Tsukinos looked at their children who were VERY 
embarassed. Shingo and Kyoko stood at the side laughing.
"Kyoko, don't tease your brother", Toshiro said. "If he wants to flirt,
LET HIM" Mamoru's father gave him a conspicious wink which Usagi saw.
His face turned tomato red and went to sit down with the rest of the
families as Usagi sat next to him. Maeko looked at them fondly 
remembering once with they were just children digging in a sandbox.
"How they've grown Ikuko", Maeko said to her best friend. 
"Yes they have. Mamoru's practically a grown man and Usagi almost a 
woman", Ikuko added as they all sat down. "You should've seen how many
bras she's outgrown" Usagi's eyes widened and she laid her head on the
table. Please someone bury her or at least knock her over the head 
with a shovel. Now she was red as she covered her face with her hands.
Her and Mamoru looked at each other as they put down there food, no 
longer hungry.
"Do you wanna get out of here?", Mamoru suggested. 
"Dear God, YES" With that the two were off in a flash.

The lake was a clear blue as their small boat made it's way through the
water. After running for cover from their parents they had decided to
rent a small boat and just try to lose themselves in the water. Usagi
was tense however being on a boat with Mamoru. My, my how WOULD she
survive? The thing that bothered her the most was that she shouldn't
have felt this way anyways. They had been able to confide in one
another since childhood but now she could not even speak one word.
"Do you remember when we were children Usako?", Mamoru asked as he 
rowed and Usagi laid back in the small boat. Her hands behind her head
as she watched the clouds form into swirls in the deep blue sky.
"It was so long ago. I hardly remember me back then", She told him. 
"We were so young back then and things changed" Leaves from trees flew
in the air landing in the water. How beautiful it all was but as 
Mamoru watched Usagi it was nothing to her face. "I loved the water 
back then"
"And now?", He asked. "Maybe it wasn't anything else that changed, 
maybe YOU changed"
"What are you getting at Mamo-chan?", Usagi asked and sat up. "I'm 
still the same person I was when I was young except I don't hang 
around your feet as much" He missed that. When he was the one she 
adored and not some dipstick boy who moronic enough to hurt her. It 
was also funny that he just happened to be that DIPSTICK. 
"Maybe I miss it a little. You hanging around me all the time", Mamoru
said to her and her eyes met him. "I hate to not be the only one you 
adore" Her smile faded into seriousness.
"Why is that?", She asked quietly. Mamoru looked at her in nervousness. 
He had just stupidly given himself away. Now was the time to smack 
himself on the forehead.
"Because no one has ever looked at me the way you do", He told her 
softly and she swallowed the lump in her throat.
"And how is that?", Usagi asked. He motioned for her to come closer. 
As they leaned towards one another her heart began to beat faster and 
faster and-SPLASH! 

And they were in the water.

Somehow the boat had tipped over and now they were in the water. And 
it was wet and cold and yes that was a fish that swan right under her 
shirt. Yes fate was against them or somehow helping them in some 
deranged way.
"Am I losing it or our we in the water?", Mamoru asked her as they 
stood in the lake. Gingerly he took a piece of seaweed that was on his
head off.
"Nope, I think we're BOTH crazy" They began walking to the shore and
as they finally got to the lake's edge. They saw how idiotic they 
looked and burst into laughter. The tense mood had been broken. "I 
don't think I'll be taking any boatrides anytime soon" Mamoru began 
to take off his shoes off and pour the water out. "Mamo-chan take off 
my shirt"
"Excuse me?", He said in disbelief and looked to see that she was 
indeed struggling to take her shirt OFF. This kind of thing only 
happened in dreams. 
"I'm wearing another shirt under", She informed him. Only for a moment
he was disappointed. "I can't get myself out of this one and it weighs
a ton" Walking over to her he carefully helped her pulled her shirt 
off-
"WHAT IS GOING ON?!", Kenji yelled as came huffing over to them along 
with Toshiro who was holding their fishing rods. "WHY ARE YOU TWO WET?!
WHAT IS THAT OVERTURNED BOAT DOING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WATER AND MOST
OF ALL WHY ARE YOU TAKING MY DAUGHTER'S CLOTHES OFF?!" His face was 
beet red and Mamoru truly believe that Mr.Tsukino indeed ready to KILL
him.
"Son, If I were you I'd RUN", Toshiro said. Mamoru quickly took his
advice.

Kenji eventually calm down and after a whole lot of explaining and 
canjoling he decided NOT to murder Mamoru. Usagi now in a long dress
shirt her father had found in the car and a pair of Shingo's oversized
boxer shorts sighed in relief as she sat on the grass. Since her hair
was coming apart she undid it making her long golden tresses fall to
the grass. In a nearby radio placed on there picnic table Pachabel in
Canon D floated in the air. Her father sat next to her and put an arm
around small shoulders.
"Your mom and I used this song at our wedding", He told her.
"That must have been so romantic", Usagi remarked wistfully. She 
imagined her parents years younger at their wedding day walking down
the aisle to this song. Her father got up and held out his hand.
"What are you doing dad?" She smiled up at him.
"How about a dance with your old dad?", He asked her. "Unless you're 
too old to dance with me" He remembered fondly with she would dance 
with him and put her feet on his so he could guide her.
"I'll never be too old to dance with YOU", She answered and got up as 
he put a hand to her waist and held her other. The pair danced as the 
others watched and Mamoru gazed at Usagi as she danced with her father.
Her cobalt blue eyes glowing with happiness and her hair flying as her
father whirl her around lightly. Her long legs mastered the steps 
gracefully. Her eyes met his and she smiled at him with her strawberry
lips. Mamoru found himself getting up and tapping Mr.Tsukino
on the shoulder.
"May I cut in?", He asked and Kenji nodded in approval. Putting an 
hand to her waist gently and taking her hand in his. They began to 
dance and it struck everyone as how beautiful they looked with each 
other. Together they had magic. Ikuko and Maeko watched in enchantment
at how there children were with each other. Usagi seemed like a glowing 
star as she looked into Mamoru's eyes. His handsome face was also lit 
and his blue eyes sparkled looking at her face.
"Do you see what I see Maeko?", She asked quietly as Kenji and Toshiro
joined them.
"Yes Ikuko, our kids are in love", Maeko answered with sweet happiness.
Her voice was hushed but everyone heard. Including Kenji...
"WHAT?!"
