For The First Time(Epilogue)

It had been four years since he had kissed Usagi and not once did 
he regret it. There were days when they would lay in the park and 
looked into each others eyes. Her soft hair would blow in the wind 
and her smile would just captivate him for hours. God he was so in 
love. However lately Usagi had been a bit down whenever they were 
together she was quiet, subdued. He had asked everyone he knew, Rei 
and all her friends were dumbfounded. Motoki had no idea though he 
had been happily married for two years to Minako who just happened 
to be expecting and SOON. Toshiro had no idea and neither did Kenji 
though he threatened to kill Mamoru if he had made his little girl 
unhappy. Maeko told him to ask Ikuko and it was finally her who gave 
him the answer to his questions.

He knew what to do.

It was new years eve and the two made their way to the Chiba household.
Usagi was doing it again, you know, the quiet thing. She held his hand
tightly, lovingly and so he knew that he wasn't the cause of the 
problem, well not all of it. 
"Usako?", He said and they stopped at the doorway. "What's wrong?
Usagi gave him a small smile and nodded her head.
"It's nothing Mamo-chan", She answered quietly and kissed his cheek. 
"I'm just a little tired" His eyebrows furrowed in concerned. "Are you
sick?", He asked her and put a warm shoulder around her. "Maybe we 
should've stayed home" Their apartment was only a few blocks away
from both their parent's house.
"No, there's no better place to be at new years eve than with my family
, my friends AND my baby", She said to him wrapping her arms around his
neck and kissing him softly on the lips. "I love you"
"I know", He answered and she chuckled. They opened the door and the
sounds of the party invaded their ears. Minako and Motoki came out
from the crowd.
"Hey you guys! We though you'd never get here", Minako said and took
in a deep breath. "Whoa the baby is kicking especially hard tonight,
must be a party girl!"
"Just like it's mama", Usagi remarked. "This is gonna one great year"
Minako took her friend's arm and put her other hand on her stomach.
"Yeah it will", She responded with a smile.
*********************************************************************
As the night wore on until it was only minutes till midnight Usagi
seemed okay until suddenly she had become quiet again. Mamoru had 
found her outside in the cold night air. Usagi was leaning against 
porch looking out into the front yard. The moon was high lighting 
her pale face.
"Usako, are you alright?", He asked her and put his arms around her
from behind. "I'm worried, you're always so quiet" It was only seconds
till midnight.
"Don't worry", She told him dully.
*TEN!* The countdown began.
"Well at least smile", He suggested to her and she walked off to sit
on a bench on the porch.
"No", She replied simply.
*FIVE!*
"Then if you're sad, go ahead and cry", Mamoru told her with love in
his eyes.
"No, I have nothing to cry about", Usagi responded quietly. Mamoru
joined her on the bench. He took a deep breath.
*FOUR!*
"In a few seconds I'm gonna ask you to marry me", He said to her.
Usagi looked out into the yard as the wind blew the willow trees
making their arms waved around. For the moment it was the only
sound they heard.
*THREE!*
*TWO!*
*ONE!*
As Usagi turned to look at him Mamoru saw that two tears had fallen
down her face and her face shone with an enchanting smile.
"Now that's something to smile AND cry about", She said chokingly
and threw her arms around me.
"Marry me Usako", He whispered in her ear and as they seperated he
took a small velvet box. 
"Yes...", She said hushed as he slipped the ring on her finger. "...yes"
He cupped her chin and leaned in to kiss her. "...yes-"
"HAPPY NEW YEAR!", Rei said interupting them. "Both of you get in 
here!"
They got up and she happily pushed them in. Walking in they were 
greeted with hugs and kisses. Kyoko who was now six jumped into her 
brother's arms. Her green eyes lit with excitement and her long hair 
bouncing along with her. Usagi helped her mother and Maeko bring in 
glasses for the new years toast. It was Ikuko who first saw the 
ring-CRASH!
"OHMIGOD!", She screamed. Ikuko grabbed her daughter's hand.
"WHAT?!", Maeko yelled back. Usagi sighed. Thank god they were in the
kitchen. 
"SHE'S GOT A RING!", Ikuko said excitedly and Maeko rushed over to 
Usagi who held her hand out willingly.
"A RING?!", Maeko said.
"A RING!", Ikuko responded.
"AHHHHHHHHH!", Both of them screamed as they jumped up and down while
Usagi stood in the middle. Usagi, well she was just struggling to 
breathe. Mamoru, Kenji, Shingo, Toshiro and everyone else ran into 
the kitchen.
"What's going on?", Rei asked.
"THEY'RE GETTING MARRIED!", Ikuko said and Usagi held her hand out.
"Oh my gosh!", Ami said and tears filled her eyes. Makoto hugged
both her friends. Motoki patted Mamoru in the back and Minako
sobbed happily by Usagi's side.
"They're WHAT?", Kenji said but softened when his daughter looked
at him with her happy eyes. He obliged and gave BOTH of them hugs.
Toshiro looked on proudly at the happy scene.
"Let's have a toast!", Toshiro pronounced and everyone gathered
around even Kyoko and Shingo who settled for apple cider.
"I don't think I should...", Usagi said with uncertainty.
"Why not?", Her new fiancee said and handed her glass.
"Because I heard it's not good for pregnant women to drink alcohol", 
She answered quietly. His eyes widened.
"Huh?", He said in disbelief.
"WHAT?!", Everyone else said.
"I'm having a baby", She said with a quiet happiness and Mamoru took
her hand squeezing it lovingly before yanking her into his arms.
"Me too!", Minako said grinning and put a hand to her stomach. Then 
the smile faded. "...Right now"

"AHHHHHHHHH!", The young woman yelled. Her shiny blond hair matted to
her forehead and her face glistening with sweat. "I CAN'T PUSH ANYMORE!"
She sobbed and held on to her husband's hand. "It hurts!"
"Just one more", He whispered in her ear. "For me" She nodded and took
a deep breath.
"One more", The doctor urged. Baring down the young woman concentrated
hard ignoring the pain till she couldn't hold it in.
"OWWWWWWWW!", She screamed till another sound quieted her.
"Usako, it's a girl", Mamoru said to his wife. She let out a cry 
of happiness as they laid the baby in her arms. Mamoru and Usagi 
gazed at there daughter with love. Her ruby eyes looked at them 
and her small limbs reached out punching in the air. "Hey you, I'm 
your daddy" His eyes brimmed with happy tears. 
"And I'm your mama", Usagi said through her sobs. "Welcome to the
world, Usagi Tsukino Chiba"
"We'll just call her Chibi-Usa", Mamoru said and he looked at his
wife and there eyes met. "I love you Usako"
"I love you", She whispered to him and smile. "I've never loved you as
much as I love you at this very moment" Her eyelids began to droop
and as she fell asleep Mamoru kissed her forehead. Gazing again at his
daughter who was asleep in a glass crib, he went off to tell the
world that he, Mamoru Chiba was a father.

"So which one is theirs?", Makoto asked as they looked through the
glass window. "It's so hard to tell!"
"Oh come on! There baby had PINK hair, how hard is it to tell which 
one is theirs?", Rei answered indignantly.
"Well it just so happens that there are NO pink-haired babies here", 
Minako said while holding her baby girl, Hatsue. Motoki stood beside 
her videotaping everything, he was a little too excited. It was almost 
like he just had the baby.
"Smile everyone!", Motoki said and zoomed in on his beautiful wife.
"Honey", Minako said with a sweet smile. "Get that camera out of my
face or you'll be sleeping on the COUCH" He put it down quickly. "You
know how fat I'm getting, I don't want it on tape" Yes, Minako was 
pregnant AGAIN. With TWINS.
"I wonder how they got a kid with PINK hair", Ami said to herself. 
"That's pretty unbelievable"
"What's unbelievable is that I'm a grandfather", Kenji said with 
his arm around Ikuko. "How did that happen?"
"For the love of God, please DON'T get him into THAT conversation 
anymore", A teenage Shingo said. "I do not wanna relive that whole
birds and the bees thing, it took me months before mom finally had
to explain it" Everyone chuckled.
"I'm dying out here!", Ikuko said. "I wanna see my grandchild"
"Me too", Maeko answered, her face glowing with pride. "The baby must 
be a beauty"
"Yup, I have to agree with you, she is lovely if I do say so myself", 
A voice said and they turned to see Mamoru grinning happily at them. 
Beside him was Usagi and in her arms a small bundle in pink. Toshiro
hugged Usagi and his son then gazed down to see his first grandchild.
His eyes filled with tears of joy as he looked at the baby.
"Do you wanna hold her?", Usagi asked softly and put Chibi-Usa in his
arms. Kyoko struggled to look up at the baby though she was too short
to do so and had Mamoru carry her up.
"She so small", Kyoko cooed. Everyone drew in to look at her.
"She's so beautiful", Maeko gasped in tears. 
"I know", Ikuko said now crying along with her.
"I like to think she takes after BOTH of you", Usagi said quietly and 
her eyes met Ikuko's. 'Thanks mom' Mamoru put an arm around her and
kissed the side of her head. "You think we'll be good parents?"
"Yeah, I think so", Mamoru said. He looked down at his wife, the love
of life and remembered what they had gone through to get there. It had
been long but never had he regretted the path he chose. "Usagi, do you
have any regrets?"
"Only one", She replied with a smile.
"What is it?", Mamoru asked.
"That we didn't kiss each other sooner", Usagi said.
"Well we have a lifetime to make up for it", He responded as their 
lips met in a passionate kiss.
