~Author's note: "Hi Hi!! Thank you so much for reading my story up to this point. Please e-mail me and tell me what you think about it so far. Your opinions mean a lot to me. J ~ Hidden Depth Part 4: The truth is revealed "BROOKE!" cried Serena. "You're awake!" Serena ran to the bedside and hug Brooke with all of her might. "Serena! You came to visit me," Brooke said happily. "How are you feeling?" "I'm feeling better. If it weren't for Sailor Moon I would have died. I wish I could thank her in person," Brooke answered. Serena felt so warm inside and happy inside. "Brooke you don't how much it means to me you said that," she thought to herself. "Well you know Brooke, I bet Sailor Moon is so happy your okay. Hearing that probably brightens up her day," Serena said Brooke's eyes widen. "You really think so?" "I know so," Serena replied. She handed Brooke the wrapped gift. "Here you go, it's a get well present." Brooke ripped off pink wrapping paper with excitement. Her eyes lit up ike two light bulbs when she found out what was inside. "Oh...Serena...it's so CuTe! I love it..." She held up the stuff rabbit. The nurse walked into the room. "I'm sorry miss but visiting hours are over. Brooke has to rest now." "Oh thank you nurse. Well I must be off," Serena said, "Brooke, I'll see you later." She gave the little five-year-old one more hug "Bye Serena. Thanks for the rabbit. Thanks for coming!" Brooke replied. (At the Temple....) "Scouts we need to find out why the negaverse is getting stronger. It even more urgent that we find the Moon Princess or we will never beat them," Luna said. "I agree, I almost got electrocuted by a monster last night a week ago; good thing Serena was there. I must say, she has been more committed to battling for like the past week. Her fighting techniques are so advanced now," Lita said "Whatever... she's still an airhead to me," Raye mumbled. "I really think we're hurting her feelings with this whole issue. Come on guys, she learn her lesson. How would you like it if you were treated that way?" Amy said. "I think you're forgetting something Amy. Remember poor Brooke! I say we picked another leader," Raye said. "I'm going to have to disagree with you, Raye. Serena is a big ditz but she really comes through when you need her. Like last week, I was almost killed but Sailor Moon save me. Not to mention, she really did kick so butt with that monster. You should have seen it Raye; after the battle, she just looked at me and walked away. The stare she gave me was so sad! I'll never forget how her eyes looked that night," said Lita. "So one night isn't going to change anything, Lita. Okay, it's great that she saved you and all but we have take in account the two years she wasted just goofing around. I say we give it more time before we talk to her again. We have to see if she's still worthy of being our leader and friend," Mina replied. "Our friend! Sailor Moon are not, we can't just be-friend Serena just because she might not be leader anymore! Goodness Mina!" remarked Amy. "Amy...." Mina said "Okay we've dicussed this enough for today. Gave Serena a couple more weeks to redeem herself..." Luna said, "We have more important things to worry about, such as the neagverse." "Before we do, I have to run to the store really quick. Grandpa wants me to pick up a few things," Raye said, "You guys can just stay here; I'll be back before you even miss me. (Back to Serena..) The little meatball head skipped down the sidewalk. "I feel like I'm walking on air; I haven't felt this way in weeks!" Serena thought to herself, "Brooke is going to be okay and I going out on a date with the hunk of Tokyo! If only I can share my happiness with my friends." Serena stopped and frown, "I know Darien is right but it still hurts inside. I wonder if we'll all just be friends again." Serena continued walking she looked at her watch. "Oh no! I going to be late! Mom is going to kill me!" Serena started running. Before she knew it, she ran right into a poor person. Both of them fell to the ground. Serena got to feet. "Forgive me, I'm just in a hurry. I'm sorry if I caus-" Serena gasped. The person she ran into was Raye. She gave Serena a very uneasy look. "That's okay Serena...." "Oh Raye!" she said still shocked. Serena felt very uneasy herself "So....um...how are you and the scouts doing?? I..ah...I haven't been seeing you guys around." "We're doing fine," Raye said. Raye ran her fingers in her hair. "Oh..that's...that's nice to hear. You know I visited Brooke today and she finally woke up," Serena said. A simile beamed on Serena's face but quicky was dissolved dby Raye's frown. "That's good news..You know Serena.. I hope you learn your lesson from all of this." "Wha..What? What do you mean by that?" Serena was in a total shock. "I know it's my fault Raye, please don't make me fell worse." Raye's eyes widened. "Excuse me Seeerrrennnaaaa, but the truth hurts. Get it through your head...Brooke almost died. You're such an immature baby! Making you feel guilty is the only way that I know of to make you realize that you need to shape up." Serena was dumbfounded. "I, I never knew you felt that way about me.." "Well I must be going... it was nice talking to you again Serena," Raye said coldly. Serena stood there motionless as Raye walked away. She felt so much grief and pain that it was beyond tears. Now she finally knew how they really felt. Thinking that it was only a faze that would wear off, she never realized that she was wrong. Serena startled walking to the park. She needed time alone; time to think and time to heal. While Serena walked passed the arcade, a certain black hair man looked up and noticed her walking away. "Hey Serena! Wait up!" Serena turned around and saw Darien running to catch up with her. "Oh...Hey Darien." Serena tried to give him a sincere simile. Darien didn't fall for it. "Serena..is something wrong?" Darien asked her. Serena looked up at him and gave him eye contact. She felt confronted by his worried expression. "I'm fine..." she mumbled. "Yeah right," Darien chuckled, "Come on, Serena....I can tell everything is not fine." "Well... I just found out something very disturbing. The people I most care about don't seem to feel the same way anymore... I,I was just talking to Raye and she made it load and clear she doesn't want anything to do with me. They think I'm a total immature baby." Serena said. Darien will make me feel better; he always does. Somehow he knows me like no other. "Serena," Darien said, "It seems that Raye and the rest of the girls can't see past your flaws." Darien came closer to Serena and tenderly touched her cheek. "Remember..." he whispered, "You're a caring, kind person. If they can't see that it's their lost. Serena you're worth more then you'll ever know." A tear trickled down her cheek but Darien brushed it away. "Darien," Serena whispered, "Thank you..." she similed. She took his hand in her own. "Darien, you're my best friend. "Actually, you even more then that..." Darien similed and gave Serena a hug. While Serena was holding onto him, eyes widened. "DARIEN! WATCH OUT!" She pushed Darien out of the way of a fireball. Darien fell on the sidewalk next to Serena. A monster stood about five feet away from them. "Serena???" "Darn...Missed him by a hair..." said the neagverse monster. It's tentacles grabbed Serena. Serena yelped like an innocent little puppy. The monster chucked. Darien got up and tried to help Serena but the monster pushed him back to the ground. "Don't even try pretty boy!" it yelled. "I just want the girl!" "What, What do you want from me?" asked Serena. "Don't play games with me... Sailor Moon!" The monster bellowed a laugh "Didn't think I knew who you were huh??? Give me the silver crystal!" "No way!" She said. She struggled to get free but the monster's grip only tightens. Serena legs dangled as the monster held her by her neck. "Serena!" Darien shouted. Thoughts overwhelmed Darien's mind. "Sailor Moon??? Serena's SAILOR MOON? The Silver Crystal, Sailor Moon, the scouts, everything. It's makes since...." he thought to himself. "You mess with her you mess with me also!" Darien declared. Serena looked at Darien with fear in her eyes. "Why is Darien sticking around??? Does he care for me as I care for him?" she thought. "Darien!!! Leave now, you'll get hurt. I can handle this," Serena shouted. "No way Sailor Moon! I've promise you long ago that I'll always protect you!" Darien replied. Serena looked puzzled. "What is he TALKING about?" she thought to herself, "The only person that has ever said that to me is..." Darien transformed into Tuxedo Mask. He pulled a rose out of his jacket. He threw it at one of the monster tentacles. The monster shrieked. The rose penetrated through one of his arms. The monster put Serena down. Darien ran to Serena's side. "Are you okay?" Darien asked her. A look of worry engulfed his face. He put his hand on Serena's. "I'm fine....Thank you... Tuxedo Mask..." Serena whispered. Serena tried to get up. "Just a little weak..." Darien helped her to her feet. "Gotta transform...I'll get my energy back." In a blink of an eye, Serena became the Champion of Justice once more. "You'll pay for that Cape Boy! Queen Bryl will be overjoyed that I'll destroy both of you at once!" The monster yelled. "I don't think so!" Seren pulled out her scepter. She turned to Darien. "I won't trip over a twig this time Darien." She similed. "You'll pay for what you've done you've done to Brooke you stupid scum bag!" "MOON..." "SCEPTER..." "ELIMATION!!!" The monster shrieked. "You'll pay for this Sailor Moon!..." its voice faded away. A pile of dust was all that remained of the monster. Serena walked up to Darien. "It's kind of funny to find out each other's identity this way..." she said. "I agree." Darien similed and He looked at his watch. " Hey, I believe it's time for our date."
