AyanamiRei1@hotmail.com.~ Hidden Depth Part 6: The value of friendship "Serena...please," Darien begged. He brushed the hair away from her face. He had onto the lifeless body of his love with his strong arms. "We were meant to be together, Serena. You can leave me here all alone, please." Darien continued to rock her body back and forth. The scouts were stunned and stood motionless. Tears trickled down their faces as their make-up ran with it. Raye finally stepped up to Darien. "Darien," she sobbed. "I'm so, so sorry." "What are you sorry about Raye?" he whispered coldy. Raye was shocked. "What do you mean what am I sorry for?" she asked, "Serena just died." Darien gave Raye an icy glare that caused her to turn away. "I just want to know if you're sorry that she died or you're sorry for how you treated her," he said firmly. "What on earth are you TALKING about?" Lita spoke up on Raye's behalf. "We cared about Serena and we always kind towards her!" Darien's anger rose. "Don't be so naive Lita! I know how you guys have been treating her recently. SHETOLDME! Poor Serena, she never really had anyone to care for her except for me. I was the only one always there for her." Darien was running his fingers through her hair. Mina was outraged for what she was hearing from Darien. "Yeah sure," she said sarcastically. "You think running around in a stupid cape was HELPING? Darien you always made fun of her and put her down for God sake! You know how much she hated the fact you called her Meatball head?! Yeah, you were always there for her! You were worse then we are!" Amy joined in. "All you've been was a jerk for the past two years...as Tuxedo Mask and Darien!! Don't you dare tell us that you were always there supporting her!" "My relationship with Serena is besides the point. For your information, it was my way of showing my feelings for her and her reaction to it all show her feelings for me," Darien barked, "Did I abandon her? Did I ever made her feel worthless did what she really was? Did I ignore her because she was not as mature as all of you think you are? Did I reject her just because of the BROOKE incident?!" Darien slowly examined all of the scouts one by one with a deep look of anger. They were all speechless with there mouths agape from shock. "Your facial expressions answers all my questions," he whispered through his teeth. "Darien, really... we-" Raye sobbed out. "Your actions reveal your heart's desires. If you really loved her, you wouldn't have treated her they why you did." Darien spat out. "The most caring angel has died for your sake not asking in return the same love she bestowed on all of you. None of you know the value of true friendship. Friends pick each other up no matter what imperfections they may have. Love for your friends should be unconditional and true." Darien said in melancholy. "A life as lovely as a rose slipped between your fingers." He held Serena's head up in the moonlight with his hands. She looked so beautiful and serene as if she was sleeping while the moonlight bathe her. His eyes looked up at all the sailor scouts. "Don't you feel shame for what you've done? Are you saying that if all of you didn't combine your strength, she still would have died? You guys know that she didn't have to defeat Bryl by herself. Serena, my angel, my princess, has taken my soul along with hers. I no longer have a reason to keep living." Darien for the first time in his life, startled crying. He desperately looked up at the sailor scouts with bloodshot eyes, "I *Loved* her....the kind of love I thought I'd never find..." he slightly tilted his head. "Ironic isn't it? When you find out you love someone, it's suppose to be the pinnacle of your life, a happiness that should be forever. In my situation, I loved and I lost. Now I have nothing." He looked back down at Serena. "At least I felt happy in the short period I was reunited with you, my princess. Thank you." Darien's tears trickled down his face as he tightly held Serena's hand. As Darien laid Serena's head onto his chest, he felt her hand twitch. His heart skipped a beat as he looked at Serena "SeReNa?" Darien desperately asked. Her eyes slowly opened as they glowed in the moonlight. "Darien," she whispered. Everyone gasped. There princess has returned to them. "SERENA!!!" Darien aggressively grabbed Serena and tightly held onto her. "I,I thought I lost you forever..." he said in her ear. Serena slowly pulled away from his hold and fingered through his jet black hair. "I would never leave you Darien. I love you." "Serena...." He tilted her head back and gave her a passionate kiss. All of the energy both of them pocessed surged to their lips as they kissed in the moonlight.
