Just Another Saturday in Tokyo By Klutz The rain dripped slowly in a gray looking painting off the windows making sloshing noises as it hit the puddles below that had been gathering for the last hour. Three people sat at the counter of the large room inside with heads in their hands, sulking. The first was a man of maybe eighteen with light blonde hair and usually bright green eyes, though at the moment they looked rather dark and dull. He had a sprinkling of freckles across his face and wore a frown with his white apron and jeans. He sighed. The second was a girl of about sixteen with long blonde hair done up in odango with streamers spilling out of each. She has large usually bright blue eyes, though hers too were rather dull at the moment. She sipped a depleting chocolate milkshake rather disconsolately and she too sighed. The third was a man of the same age as the first with dark black hair and midnight blue eyes that usually had * some * spark of life in them, but also at the moment were dark and lifeless. He echoed the first too in a sigh of his own. “Man… I am soooo bored.” Andrew whined. This was the first speech in little over an hour. “You can say that again. I don’t even feel up to studying for the math final tomorrow, and I just don’t think I have the energy to go home. To bad Meatball Head has to be here,” sighed Darien. The blonde girl frowned. “Thanks a lot Darien. If I had the energy, I’d probably dump my milkshake on you, but I spent my last dollar twenty for this week on it.” She said, not even looking up from her drink. The cat on the floor watched, mildly amused, but simply taking the whole scene in. Suddenly, Andrew perked up. “Hey! I forgot, Rita’s coming back today from Africa! I’d better get to the airport! Lock up for me, will you Dare?” He got off his stool with new energy and threw his apron on a hook, put his coat on and threw the keys to Darien before leaving as the door closed with a slam. “Sure thing buddy.” Darien replied to the room. “No problem at all.” Minutes passed. Serena sighed and took the final sip from her drink before pushing it aside. “I am sooo bored.” “…” “Well come on Darien! You’re supposed to be the super-genius. What can we do to keep us occupied? There’s no way I’m going home in that storm.” She said, shuddering. It hadn’t started to thunder and lightning yet, but as always Serena took no chance on her main fear in life. “Just because I can study and you can’t doesn’t mean I’m a genius Meatball Head.” Darien replied, somewhat amused. Serena snorted. “Yeah, right. That’s not what Andrew says. He told me you go to Azabu Technical on scholarship.” She spun her stool around and picked up the cat, setting her on the counter as she stroked the dark fur absently. Darien raised an eyebrow. “You know Meatball Head, that isn’t the most sanitary place you could set a cat.” Somehow, both the owner and the cat managed to look offended. “If there’s one thing I’m certain of Darien, it is that you do * not * want to insult this cat.” “What is she, some sort of attack cat?” he asked, getting his usual amusement from making her angry. “Certainly not!” “… Since when did you get a British accent Meat for Brains?” Serena’s eyes went wide and she lightly smacked the cat on the backside of her head. “Now see what you’ve done Luna!” she scolded it. The cat seemed to frown and then look apologetically at Serena. This surprised Darien. “That must be a smart cat. I’ve never seen one with such a wide array of expressions. She even managed to look sorry there for a moment!” Darien exclaimed. He sat up straighter and leaned over, looking closely at Luna who now busied herself with washing one of her paws and acting more like a regular cat. “You’ve got to be kidding! She’s just a normal ordinary cat!” Serena replied just a little to fiercely. “What are you, crazy? Honestly, intelligent cats…” she looked upset and nervous, which only piqued his interest more. He leaned over and quickly scooped up the cat who made an odd noise that sounded somewhat like a surprised comment changed to a startled meow quickly. He held her up to his face, eyes to eyes. “She doesn’t * look * different. … Except for maybe this crescent moon mark on her fore head here…” he said, tapping it for effect. There seemed to be a flash of light for a moment, and he blinked. “Hey, where’d that light come from?” Serena paled. “Wh, What light? I didn’t see any light, did you Luna?” The cat replied with an ‘I agree with you’ sounding meow. “See? No light none at all! Well. Will you look at the time, oh I’ve got to go, bye Darien!” She slid off the stool and made a mad dash for the door. “Hey Meatball Head, you forgot your cat!” Darien said after a second’s realization. “Oh, right. Luna.” She said. Serena walked quickly over and tried to take Luna from Darien, but as soon as her hands touched Luna, there was another flash of light and she quickly removed her hands. Backing up a step, she kneeled down. “Um, err… Here kitty! Come * on * Luna, we have to go remember?” The cat tried to climb off of Darien, but he held her still. “Can’t lie that time Meatball Head, I * definitely * saw some light!” he said firmly. By the way his eyes had those sparks back in them now she could tell that there was no getting out of this one. “It was uh, probably just some lightning Darien.” She tried to sound convincing, but it obviously wasn’t working. He shook his head. “Electrical shortage?” Another negative. “Um… Youma attack! Better go see if there’s a monster rampaging through the city!” He tilted his head and peered out the window. In one way, this seemed to be in her favor, for staring right back at him was a rather large and scary looking youma. “AHH! Monster!” he yelled, dropping the cat. Serena dove for Luna, scooped her up and raced just out of sight outside before transforming. “Serena, you can’t go out there, it’s dangerous!” Darien cried out, he followed her but obviously not fast enough. The girl was no where to be seen. "Hey freak!" Darien's head whipped to the left, he could have sworn that was Serena challenging the monster, but Sailor Moon was standing there instead. "Yeah, you! I stand for love and justice and in the name of the moon, I'll punish you!" The monster did not look impressed and gathered a ball of energy, whipping it in Sailor Moon's general direction. The girl hopped around from right to left, dodging attack after attack. 'She looks like she could use some help, I wish I could help, but what could I do? I'm just normal!' Darien gazed on in a slight stupor, and was startled when another attack came flying out of nowhere. "Mars Fireballs Charge!" A slip of paper seemed to stick to the monster's head as a haze of mist filled the street under the command of another voiced command. The monster was frozen in place and two shadows joined Sailor Moon. "Now Sailor Moon, before it breaks free!" was the only clear thing he could hear from the group of what now were three Sailor Suited warriors. "Right! Moon Tiara Magic!" A blazing disc of light sliced through the fog, parting it on it's way to the target and in another flash of light, there was nothing in the monster's place but a pile of dust blowing away in the storm. The fog lifted and the three Sailors stood off a few meters away from him, talking in low voices, apparently not aware of him yet, but he could still hear them. "Did you want to come to the temple Sailor Moon? One heck of a storm out here." Mars offered. Mercury seemed to be agreeing with her. "Yes, we should get inside, the chances of one of us catching pneumonia are rising steadily from three percent." "Thanks, but I have to pick up our little guardian friend before that creep torments her to death in some lab experiment. She's acting really weird, flashing lights at us all day." The other two nodded and took to the rooftops quickly heading north, while Sailor Moon jumped south once or twice and then vanished. He turned to see where she went, only to catch Serena trying to sneak back into the arcade before he noticed. "Hey meatball head, you shouldn't have been out here during the fight!" Serena froze and hung her head in defeat, muttering something that sounded akin to 'rats!' "Well what were *you * doing out here then Darien?" she asked impatently as hhe opened the door and they stepped inside. It was only drizzling now, but there was still some thunder and lightning. "Looking for you, you meatball head! You could have been hurt!" "Nah," she said, waving it off as she picked up the cat again who had walked over to her. "Sailor Moon Mars and Mercury were there. I was fine." She said, and then continued. "Now if you don't mind, I've really got to get going." She said, shuddered and started for the door. Darien stepped in the way. "Not a chance. I've still got a few questions for you and your cat here." He said firmly. Serena frowned at him. "Get out of my way Darien, I've *really * got to be going now." She growled. He shook his head. "Darien, I reeeeaaly don't want to have to hurt you, so get out of my way!" Again, Darien shook his head. "And what exactly would you do meatball head, throw your cat at me?" he asked, somewhat amused as he tipped his head to one side. "Maybe. Do you really want to find out?" Luna managed to look somewhat angered at her being used as a weapon, then turned and growled fiercly at Darien. "You do, and I'll have her all to myself to test all my questions about this light on." He replied in an even tone. Serena clutched Luna to her chest. "You wouldn't dare!" He raised an eyebrow. "Wouldn't I? Now either you stay and defend your cat, or you throw her at me, and I get to deal with her." Darien threatened. Serena sighed and sat back down on her stool, setting Luna down in front of her again. "Even I wouldn't make a cat spend time with *you *. She spat. He grinned. There was the good old meatball head he'd come to know and…er, tease. Yes, that's it, tease. A little voice in the back of his head laughed and Darien frowned at it. He could deal with that latter. Moving quietly, he sat down next to her. "Alright meatball head," he started, noticing she was stroking the cats head again, "Lets test my theory." He reached out, and before she could draw back, also put his hand on the cat. A bright flash of light enveloped the room…. Ha! More soon, visit new V-chan/Usa shrine with desktop wallpaper! http://www.homestead.com/usapv/unique.htmlmoonklutz@yahoo.com Luvs ya! ~Klutz
