Time flies they say. For me it couldn't have gone any slower. He left again and now my friends were trying to find out if he was our enemy. He couldn't be. It's just not possible. He's not that kind of person. He isn't like the other two we've stopped. I feel it, kinda like I did with the crystal back in the Embassy. But why is he so afraid of me? The Rewriting of a Legend Episode 3 By Rain Ayo ( rain_ayo@hotmail.com ) Usagi sighed for the umpteenth time. Her friends were going over and over all of the facts they had on the Negaverse and the stranger that helped them at the last battle. "It doesn't make any sense. Who was he talking about?" Ami asked. "What do you mean?" Minako asked. "Well he said he had to protect her," Ami said. "Who he was talking about I don't know." Everyone turned to Usagi. "Do you know who he was talking about?" Mna asked her. "What makes you all think I know?" she exclaimed. "I don't know who he is. I don't know..." "All right Usagi," Minako said. Usagi had a feeling she knew that she wasn't telling the whole truth, but figured that Minako knew she had her reasons. "Perhaps we should find out who this stranger is," Minako said. "It's possible he knows where the crystal is or the Princess." "How are we going to do that?" Makoto asked. "I don't think trying to find a guy in this city is going to be all that easy." "You're right, we'll just have to wait till the next time we meet him," Minako said. "Well have anyone found any new leads recently?" Luna asked. "No. It's as if the crystal and the Princess isn't even close to Tokyo," Ami said. "They are here. We just have to find them," Artemis said. "No one said this was going to be an easy task." Luna plopped herself infront of Usagi on her bed. "Usagi I know there are things you are not telling us. Who is that guy that was fighting Nephlite?" she asked. "I don't know," Usagi said looking away. "Why is it so important?" Luna sighed. "I'm worried about you. What if that guy is an enemy? What if he tries to hurt you? Usagi if we don't know who he is and what he wants then we don't know how to handle him," Luna said. "He is not an enemy!" Usagi said. "He would never hurt me!" "That may very well be true, but we don't know that," Luna said. "That's right, you don't know. You don't know him. You don't know that I won't let you hurt him," Usagi said. "Usagi, if you don't tell us everything then we'll have to find out the hard way," Luna said. "You wouldn't understand," Usagi said. "You'd probably only end up saying that he is dangerous and I'd never be allowed to see him again. Not that that would stop me mind you." "Usagi, you don't know that," Luna said. Usagi got off the bed. "I don't want to tell you. You'll ruin everything. You've already taken away my life. I won't let you take away more of my happiness," she said. She quickly got out of there before Luna could say anything more. Mamoru walked down the street and towards the arcade. He wasn't very busy, actually very bored, so he thought he'd stop by to say hello to his friend. "Hi Mamoru. How are you doing?" Motoki said as he saw his friend come in the door. "Things are all right. Just have the day off with nothing really to do. I thought I'd drop by and say hello," Mamoru said. "You need a day off," Motoki said. "Maybe, but I think I'm going to go stir crazy," Mamoru said with a smile. "Just need to find something to keep myself occupied." Motoki just smiled. "Well I'm not getting off for a while. Why don't you come back later on this afternoon," he said. "We'll see," Mamoru said. "I'll see you later." He waved to Motoki and then headed off again. He walked down the street and headed for his apartment. Half way there he decided to take a longer route and just wandered around town for a while. As he went by a large fair that had been going on for a couple of days, he started to get a very bad feeling. He went over to it to see what was going on. Everyone was unconscious. A blonde man floated over them, laughing. "Let's see if those silly girls come and try to stop me. I'll get rid of them like Nephlite and Jedite were not able to," the man said. Mamoru wanted to stop that guy from doing whatever he was doing, but he would never be able to reach him with the guy still in the air. What if that guy could shoot those blasts like the last two could? "Hold it right there, Negatrash!" someone yelled. The four warrior girls appeared out of no where and stood in front of the floating man and the unconscious people. The leader stepped forward a bit and said, "We are the Sailor Senshi and you are toast!" "Big words coming from humans. You can't possibly defeat me," the man said. "I am Zoisite of the Negaverse. I will collect energy for our growing leader." "Sure you will," the one in green said. "Supreme Thunder!" Several bolts of lightning rocketed toward Zoisite. He laughed and with a wave of his hand they went off in another direction. Zoisite slowly lowered himself to the ground. "You're parlor tricks won't get you very far when paired up against the Dark Kingdom," he said with a laugh. Mamoru took that opportunity to come up at Zoisite from behind. If he distracted Zoisite, then the Senshi could stop him. He charged at him and knocked him down. Zoisite got up and faced Mamoru with a rather intimidating glare. Mamoru didn't let it get to him as he charged at him again. Zoisite obviously wasn't ready for a physical attack because Mamoru connected with Zoisite's jaw. Zoisite held his jaw and wiped a bit of blood off his lip. "Stupid mortal. You are getting in the way too often," he said. He shot a thin black blast at Mamoru, who dodged it. He ran at Zoisite again and kicked him in the stomach. Zoisite landed hard on the ground and held his stomach for a moment. Mamoru looked up at the Senshi, who were just standing there staring at him. "What are you wait for? Get rid of him," he said. The one in blue typed away at her keyboard. "We can't. We need Sailor Moon to heal him," she said. "What do we do? We can't just kill him." "Where's Sailor Moon? Aren't you supposed to protect her?" Mamoru asked. "She ran off," the one in red said. "What do you care? You're sticking you're nose in places you shouldn't. If you don't get out of here you're going to get yourself hurt." Mamoru glared at her. "Good job you've done. She shouldn't be out there alone," he said. "If she's hurt, I sware I'll have you're head." He turned and bolted out of the park. The Senshi watched him with confusion. Zoisite took this opportunity to escape with all of the people's energy. "I've got what I came for. Soon we'll have enough to revive the growing leader," Zoisite said as he vanished. Mars looked at the spot Zoisite just had been. "Great. Just great! All of these people...are they dead?" she asked as she turned to Mercury. "I don't know...some of them are really close. We need an ambulence right now!" she cried. Everything went by oddly fast as the Senshi stood off in the shadows siliently helping the paramedics as they came to take care of the people. There just wasn't enough help. By the time it was all over there was 15 dead and 8 close to it. "We should have killed him," Jupiter said solemly. "We could have saved all of those people." Venus hung her head. "That man had a point though. We haven't done a good job trying to find Usagi. We really could have used her help," she said. Luna and Artemis went over to them. Luna hung her head as well. "It was that man that fought with you. Whoever he is...he means a lot to her. She won't tell me anything about him. She says that she doesn't want me to ruin her life more than it has already been. I just wish I hadn't had to do this to her. She wanted to be just Usagi and not Sailor Moon. She feels like she's been forced to give up her life for something she can't understand or remember," she said. Luna curled up and sobbed. Mercury changed back to Ami and picked up Luna. "I'm sorry Luna. We shouldn't have been so hard on her. She really isn't ready for all of this. If only we could find her and tell her how sorry we are," she said. "That man, whoever he is, went after her. She'll be safe with him. That much I do know," Mars said as she and the others changed back to their original selves. "I just wish I knew who he was," Minako said softly. Mamoru searched the town hoping to find her alive. Funny how he didn't even know this girl, but he had already given his heart to her willingly. It just felt right. Something inside of him had melted the first time he saw her. As if a part of him had always known her and always would love her. Another odd thing about her was his ability to know where she was and if she was in any danger. It was just this strange link he had with her. He almost thought he knew exactly what she was feeling too. It just wasn't possible. Although he would have thought that everything that had happened in the past month was impossible too, except that he'd seen it unfold right before his eyes. So right now he was furiously trying to figure out how that link worked so that he could find her before trouble did. It just wasn't working exactly as he had hoped. "Oh Princess where are you?" he called out softly into the night air. He sighed and stopped to rest on a park bench. A sudden sob startled him and he looked around. Was it really her? A shadowed figure sat beside a tree with it's back to him. He cautiously went over to the figure hoping not to startle the person. As he came closer he could have cried for joy. "You're all right," he said softly. She looked up at him completely startled and completely happy that it was him and not one of the Senshi. She nodded slowly. The sudden rush of happiness and love that she could see in his eyes making her slowly melt. She couldn't imagine anyone else who could do this to her or want to do this to her. He sat down, facing her. "Are you all right? Everyone is really worried about you," he said. She turned away from him. "Oh what do they care? Their only after that stupid crystal anyway. They don't care about who they hurt in the process," she said softly. "Did they hurt you?" he asked her shocked. "Not like that. They've ruined my life. I'm not meant to be a fighter. I'm not strong enough for that. And now...they...they..." she couldn't tell him the rest. She suddenly felt very conscious that she didn't really know if he felt the same. "They what?" he coaxed. "They think you are our enemy. They think you must be because you are after what they want. They know I know about you, but I won't tell them. I don't want you to get hurt like I'm being hurt," she said slowly getting quieter. He took her into his arms. "It's all right," he said soothingly. "You don't deserve the treatment they are giving you. They do seem to be ignoring you. It's all right though. I'm here. You're not alone." She sighed. She felt so warm in his arms. She felt for a moment she could see him. See him as he WAS. "Who are you?" she asked quietly. "Who am I?" "You are my princess. I swore to protect you from your enemies," he said strangely in a somewhat different voice. "You are my prince. I swore to protect you from yourself," she said as if repeating an oath. She looked up at his face, the strange moment passed. His sparkling blue eyes shined down at her. "But...do you love me?" He nodded slowly, cupping her chin in his hand. "You can feel it can't you? Deep down in your heart. I do love you. Just as I know you do. I can feel it. That's all I need to know. I know that I'm not alone anymore," he said. He kissed her gently but with so much feeling that the world slowly slipped away from their grasps. It was just the two of them floating in a void where they could never be harmed. Usagi snuggled into his arms and sighed contently. "You've...come back to me," she said barely audible. She slipped into a peaceful slumber in his arms. Mamoru picked her up and carried her to his apartment. ******************************************************** I hope you enjoyed this. Let me know what all of you think. Hi Usa-chan!
