Okay, this story will probably be revised a thoudsand times before I send it out on the net. ^_^ I'm working on it, minna! I hope you enjoy this. It is an alternate reality fic, where there are no senshi or Dark KIngdom or prince and princess. Just a general sap story, using the most perfect couple of al times. So, that's why I have to say I don't own Sailor Moon. Mamoru's Christmas Mamoru stared out the windows of the cafe, thinking about the upcoming holiday. Everyone seemed to happy for it and all. He wondered if there was anybody that had to spend the Christmas holiday by themselves like he did. Proably not. Everyone had famalies that loved and cared for them. He heard the bells to the cafe jingle and saw the petite blonde come bouncing through the doors. It was Usagi. He smiled to himself. She was always so cheerful, and he knew he could just be happier seeing her. But some reason she didn't seem all that happy today. He drank his coffe and silently observed her, as she went running up to his best friend Motoki, who ran the arcade. Usagi couldn't beleive it! Her parents had been called away for an important business trip right around Christmas! They would be in America on Christmas Day. She had no one to spend the holiday with. She was on the verge of telling Motoki, but decided aganist it. She instead grabbed an empty booth and sat down, ordering a drink from one of the waiters there. Motoki still came up to her, and she finally told him. "I would invite you to stay with me and my family, Usagi-chan, but Reika and I are going to Hawaii, and can't take anyone along. Gomen nasai." Usagi smiled and waved off his concern. "I'll be fine, Motoki-san. I can survive being alone for the holidays." While he walked away to wait an another customer, she whispered something sadly under her breath. "I best get used to it. After I move out, all my holidays will be spent alone." Mamoru heard her, and his eyes widened. Usagi had noone to spend Christmas with? No friends or family or even any boys that had to be crazy about her? Somehow that was very hard to believe, and he refused to let Usagi spend a Christmas alone. Usagi was silently drinking her hot chocolate when she felt a presnce nearby, and looked up to see Chiba Mamoru, one of Motoki's friends. They hardly ever talked, and Usagi wondered why he was coming over to sit next to her. "Konnichiwa, Usagi-chan. I couldn't help overhearing what you said to Motoki-kun. Is it true?" Usagi nodded, tears in her eyes still. "Yes, Mamoru-san. Why?" He smiled gently down at her. "It just so happens that I, too, will be spending Christmas alone. I was wondering if you wanted to get together so we don't have to spend Christmas alone." Usagi was in shock. Did Motoki tell him of her crush on him or something? Or was he just playing a joke on her or something? He probably had tons of stuff to do on Christmas. "Usagi-chan?" Mamoru asked, when she didn't reply. She smiled. If it *was* a trick, then she would make him pay dearly. But if it wasn't...she suddnely knew, in her heart of hearts, that this would be one of the best Christams days that she ever had. Mamoru led her up to his apartment building, and her eyes widened. He was loaded, like Ami-chan was. In fact, it looked like Ami-chan's apartment building. She wished that her friend was here, but she was studying to be a doctor, and part of that included an internship in Germany. Mamoru gave her a strange look as they walked in the building. "Usagi-chan, I know this may seem like a personal question, but how old are you?" Usagi blushed. "I'm nineteen, Mamoru-san." She cringed. She was nineteen and still living at home. She wondered if he was thinking of her as a child. They reached his penthouse apartment, and as soon as he got her settled in, they began talking, becoming close as the day went by. "So, Usagi-chan, why are you not spending Christmas with anybody? I know that your parents are away, but what about friends?" Usagi grinned. "They all have their own lives now, Mamoru-kun. Ami-chan is studying to be a doctor in Germany, Mako-chan is in France, getting her degree in culinary arts, Mianko-chan is in England with her modeling, and Rei-chan is touring the country with her singing. They are all doing really great." Even though she seemed truly happy for her friends, Mamoru sensed that Usagi seemed saddened by it a little. "What about you, Usagi-chan? What dreams do you have?" Usagi looked down, and blushed. SHe couldn't tell him that one of her dreams was to be a bride, to marry the man of her dreams. "Well, I want to make everyone happy, Mamoru-kun. To see anyone lonely or unhappy makes me sad. Arigato for seeing that I needed someone this time. I never realized how lonely I was when all the girls left." Mamoru smiled and gave Usagi a hug. "Well, let's not mope around then, Usagi-chan! Let's go get our tree and food and stuff for our Christmas!" He pulled Usagi up and out the door.
