Meant to be Together, Forever By: Angel Chapter: 4 Rating: PG Disclaimers: Okay, here's the deal. I don't own Sailor Moon! Stop saying I do! J/K, no one has said that, I just felt like making you feel bad. Alright, I know that in the beginning of all my chapters start out very boring, but then they work their way into becoming vital pieces of a puzzle. In the last chapter (I will give you a hint) Usagi woke up burning. There's a little hint for you... now I want to say that I am sorry for those who have stopped reading because they find the beginning of my chapters boring, but I have planned it this way. So there! Okay? Good. Now even though this disclaimers is short doesn't mean that my chapter will be short, well actually they are pretty short, each about five pages or so. Hehehe. O well, I want a lot of feedback! So there! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Meant to be Together, Forever Chapter 4 'What do I say now? Oh, I hate it when people do this to me! It's not fair!' Usagi-chan thought as she gripped onto Mamoru-kun's shirt. It wasn't even a minute after Mamoru called her the nickname he had given her, the same one she thought she heard last night, it was really unexpected. Was this the true Mamoru-kun she had always known? It was obvious he was never this sweet to her. The nickname he had given her was one thing by itself, but having him say it to her, while she was awake, and very capable of hearing it was another thing. She just didn't know what to think after all of this. Time had passed since everyone else had left, a lot actually. It never occurred to her that today or rather tonight would be the very last night she would be able to say another thing in her life. It was so far and distant that she never thought about it thoroughly. But she did notice when Mamoru asked to see the letter. ''Usagi-chan, may I see the letter sent to you? Who is it from?'' He asked. ''It says anonymous, and yeah, sure you can see it, it doesn't give very much information you know. It's just a stupid letter saying that on Friday it will be my last.'' Usagi chuckled as she leaned back up to sit on her own while he reached for the letter. He opened the envelope, while searching for any sign of a clue visible on it's surface. Mamoru saw his Usako lay back on her bed, but this time it was on her side, in a curled up kind of way. He decided to let her sleep if she needed to rest. And boy did she ever! Although, she didn't seem to want to sleep at the moment after all, because she sat back up and looked at Mamoru-kun with some kind of sparkle in her eyes. Her mouth was slightly ajar, and she looked at him with an awkward expression plastered upon her face. He stared back and raised his eyebrow in confusion. Chuckling he went back to reading the letter given to Usagi the night before. His expression also changed as he read the letter over and over and over again, but it just didn't seem to make any sense what so ever. ''Usagi-chan, this letter doesn't make any sense, at all. How do you know it's a threat letter?'' He asked her lightly tapping the paper with the back of his hand. ''I've seen a ton of threat letters' from the Negaforce, they're all the same. All final matches, destination of some sort, some kind of pre-victory for them, only, they never win. I would know... I've beaten all of their generals, of course, that's what Luna says, but it's more like the scouts defeated them.'' ''Wait... Luna? Isn't Luna your cat?'' Mamoru-kun asked perplexed. 'Is she off her rocker or something?' ''Yeah, is it a problem that a cat can talk? Oh, wait, I see what you mean.'' Usagi-chan laughed. ''Yeah, I guess you're right. It is kind of strange that a cat can talk and all, I did the same thing almost when she told me I was Sailor Moon. I thought it was a crazy dream that a klutzy girl like me, whom is always late and can't do her homework, and to people who don't give me credit for what I do correctly. Okay, I'm out of control, but I bet you get the picture, and it was just a dream when she gave me this transformation brooch, it was really weird feeling transforming for the first time. Okay, why am I telling you all of this anyway?'' Usagi-chan said real quickly. ''Because I want to know, but it still doesn't make sense. And Usagi-chan, you may be clumsy, I can't deny that, but your not everything else you said, which I can't remember very well, but that's really not the point here. The point is, you can't go around making yourself look bad. Bad thoughts tend to make people ugly, and you can't afford to lose your good looks.'' Mamoru, realizing his mistake, changed the subject. ''Will Luna talk to me?'' ''Why should I? I think that Usagi-chan should just kill you right now, knowing that you share our secret and all. She holds more power in her little finger than you do in your whole body.'' Said a mysterious voice. ''Why do you say that Usagi-chan?'' Mamoru said before he realized who said it. ''She didn't baka.'' A small black cat jumped up on the bed next to Mamoru. Usagi-chan looked at Luna with fear, she knew she was in for it. Mamoru-kun opened his mouth in surprise at the cat, his eyes rolled back into his head as he fell unconsciously landing upon the bed with a soft thud. ''Luna, what do we do with him now?'' Usagi-chan said surprised. ''Honestly Usagi-chan. I'm not a nurse! How am I suppose to know?'' Luna said with as much surprise as Usagi-chan. ''Um... uh... okay then.'' Usagi-chan said. Fifteen minutes had passed since Mamoru-kun had passed out unexpectedly. Usagi-chan had called Ami-chan for help and said it was her mom who fainted from overheating (Luna's idea). She felt horrible lying to Ami-chan, but Luna had insisted on doing so until they were able to find a solution to the spectacle/problem. 'I never thought in all of my life that it was him! Not just to find out my identity, but as I was just about to fall asleep my mystery man, soul mate, my one true love, the one with a perfect personality, who could make me blush ever time I think about him, the one who could make me laugh uncontrollably, the one who could make me feel so much sorrow when he was gone. These feelings I have always felt, but never noticed before, these feelings I never showed to him, these feelings I had in my dreams making up my mystery man, the one who never took complete form, just the outline, this man in my dreams had taken total detail, every inch of his body, and every seventeen muscles of his mouth smiling down at me, holding his had out for me to join him forever. It makes me feel so strange and fluffy when I now think about them more deeply. I realized that he was the one thing that was missing from my heart. From the day I was born to now I knew there was something missing. I prayed to the Lord asking what was missing, the one thing that made me feel... complete. What words to I say to him now that I know that he was the one smiling down at me? What chance do I actually have with him? I can live without him yes, but not for long. I see him everyday, and I run into him all the time. It basically makes no sense at all. I am so confused now. There are so many emotions I feel right now. I am crying for no apparent reason, I want to laugh out loud, I want to crawl up in my tree house outside in the big oak tree outside my window and just think... I don't know about what, though. I now understand what the Lord was trying to show me that made my heart complete. He, Chiba Mamoru was the one who could find the way back into my heart. I have always thought I knew him better for some reason, but I never knew in the past, but now I do. I always knew him well because... because I'm in love with him. And I sit here now thinking how I could set things right, what can I do to show him how much my love is real for him, but not in a way that is sudden, like one of those things that you find that some guy likes you and you start to like him back and yet you really don't. Not one of those kind of things; I want to make it subtle, in a way that he could figure out on his own, and then let him decide whether he feels the same.' Usagi-chan thought within the fifteen minutes he lay unconscious in her bed. Usagi-chan, knowing right then what the perfect way tell him, stood up and walked to her night stand with a key on top of it. Grabbing the key she unlocked the door with a slight twist of the wrist. She took out a book and looked at it with tears in her eyes. She had noticed earlier that Mamoru had brought his book bag with him that day, obviously coming from his last class, and she slipped the book with a note attached to the front and closed the clasp that held all five huge text books inside. A noise was heard from Mamoru-kun, quickly she sat back on the bed next to him replacing the wet wash cloth on his forehead. Mamoru-kun rubbed his eyes and sat up knocking the cloth over, it took a few minutes to adjust to the current surroundings before stretching like he just woke up from an excellent nap. Usagi-chan looked at him a bit worried. ''Mamo-chan.'' Usagi-chan whispered so he could hear her. She cleared her throat. ''Mamoru-kun? Are you alright?'' She said a bit louder. He turned to her a bit surprised to see her all of a sudden. He blinked a few times, still trying to adjust to the terrible light that loomed overhead. ''Yeah, I'm sorry. How embarrassing, I fainted because a friend's cat talked to me.'' He joked. Usagi-chan was now uncomfortable around him. She tried to laugh, but it came out more like a low rumble from a clap of thunder than anything else. She looked downward to the pillow she was sitting upon. ''Don't tell Matoki-kun, okay? He'll laugh, and he will never let me forget what I did.'' Mamoru-kun laughed uneasily, feeling her uneasiness around him all of a sudden. It made him wonder why. All the teasing had suddenly nullified between them. It was like an important word from a play excised. ''Well, um, thanks Usagi-chan. I owe you one. I guess I better be going now, if you don't mind.'' Mamoru stood up to leave, but Usagi-chan grabbed at his sleeve and pulled him back down. ''Mamoru-kun. If you tell anyone my secret, I will have to kill you.'' Usagi said jokingly. She laughed before she even finished. She knew she had to do something to break the tension between them before he left. ''No, but seriously, you can't tell anyone Mamoru-kun. You will get yourself and me into a lot more than anyone can handle.'' Usagi-chan searched his eyes to see if he showed any kind of becoming a turncoat. But she saw none. She knew that if he told ANYONE, both of their lives would be on trial. She saw a twinkle in his eye and a smile of sincerity swell on his features. Mamoru-kun stood back up and picked his book bag up to leave. As she was about to open the door, Usagi-chan jumped off the bed and fell, only to be caught in a tangle of bed sheets and comforter pilled on the floor. Mamoru-kun laughed as she tried to get up, only to fall down again. ''Do you need help Usagi-chan?'' Mamoru-kun asked half laughing. Before he was able to do anything Usagi-chan had miraculously freed herself, and stood up quickly with her face bright red. Mamoru-kun laughed all the more. ''Good-bye Usagi-chan. I will see, or rather bump into you tomorrow morning. Like usual.'' That was the last thing he had said to her before he left. ''Good-bye Mamo-chan.'' Usagi said quietly, and sadly. She held her hands as she watched him walk down the stairs saying good-bye to her father (surprisingly) and mother kindly before leaving through the front door. Mamoru walked quickly down the streets to his apartment. It was a long day, and he was tired; he had gained so much new information today that it was a bit hard to absorb all at once. 'Let me see here. Usagi-chan is the legendary Sailor Moon that I have practically devoted my life saving. Sailor Moon has been threatened by the Negaforce brutally, and she expects herself to die any day now if it weren't for Tuxedo-kamen sama. Which so happens to be me, and her cat, Luna, talked to me like I was some kind of jerk, or pervert. I made some progress today... a lot of progress. Hmm. I wonder how long I have to live before the scouts kill me?' Mamoru-kun laughed at his own thoughts. He noticed three girls walking down the other side of the street going the same direction as he, he saw them giggling and looking at him then whispering in each other's ears. He blushed a bit then walked a little quicker. But his apartment was on the other street, right where the three girls were. He decided to keep his stance and take a chance of being mobbed. The girls stopped and looked, more like stared, at Mamoru as he was walking across the street right towards them. They all gawked, then one of the girls were pushed forward right into him as he passed. He dropped all of his books in his book bag, and the girl blushed furiously as both of them leaned down to pick them up. Papers were spread everywhere around them. The girl picked up a book with crescent moons on the cover and little bunny drawings on the binding. She didn't put it back in his bag, instead she opened it to read. Mamoru grabbed it from her, not knowing exactly what it was, or who's it was until he looked at it for a moment longer. ''Is that yours?'' The girl asked nervously. ''No... uh, it's my girlfriend's.'' He said the first thing that came to mind. Mamoru-kun wasn't able to think of anything else except the book. Why was it in his bag of books? Was it Usagi's? It must be, he hadn't seen anyone before or after he went to Usagi's house to check up on her, to make sure she was all right and everything. The elevator ride seemed to take absolutely forever to reach his floor, he didn't need to read it, but it sparked his intrest, and he wanted to see if it was hers ''Honestly!'' Mamoru said allowed to himself in the empty elevator. He held the book between his thumb and index finger. 'How could it have gotten there unless she put it in my bag?' Mamoru thought. The bell sounded as he thought this and he practically ran into his door before actually turning the knob to his apartment. His tidy (more like spotless) homes was instantly littered when he threw his book bag down to the floor. Papers went flying everywhere across the floor and his books created a loud thud when they hit. But Mamoru didn't care, to him it was nothing, his curiosity had gotten the better side of him. Mamoru practically jumped up onto the couch. THUMP! ''Ouch. That... really hurt.'' Mamoru said aloud. Mamoru fell off the couch. His face was flat against the carpet, and his nose was sore; Mamoru picked himself off of the carpeted floor and rubbed his nose, but quickly stopped as the sharp pains emerged. Standing up, Mamoru regained his composure of a wise guy and carefully sat down on the couch and made sure he was safe before letting all of his weight down on the tan leather couch. Mamoru looked to his left, then to his right. He looked on the coffee table with the spilled cup of coffee on it; in a split instant he ran from the couch to the bathroom, tore a long piece of toilet paper off of the role, wiped up the spill, and was able to throw it away and sit back down without thinking. It was routine. Once again, Mamoru looked to his left then to his right, on the coffee table, under the coffee table, on the floor, and under the couch. He found the book that he thought belonged to his beloved under his wicked piece of furniture. ''Remind me to make you pieces of scrap when your use to me is done with.'' Mamoru said to no one. The book now laid in his hand, his palm began to sweat, thinking that it was possible she would come in dancing and he would be reading her book. 'But what kind of book is it?' He thought. Then he saw a piece of rose paper safely tucked within a pocket inside of the book; it stuck out only an inch, but just enough for him to see. It caught his interest once again and he pulled it out, careful not to rip the slightest bit in case his Usako found it missing. The note was addressed to him with sloppy handwriting; it asked him to read this first. ''Does she expect me to read the whole thing? Was this planned by her?'' Mamoru asked quizzically. The rose piece of paper was folded once and clipped with a paperclip. Mamoru thought twice about what he was about to do. 'But, it was addressed to me!' Mamoru contradicted himself. Before he changed his mind he slipped the paperclip off and quickly opened the noted to see a paragraph written in the same sloppy handwriting that addressed him to read. He began to read... Dear Mamoru-kun, If you have any respect for privacy you wouldn't be reading this, but I intended or rather hoped you would read this. (''Oh thanks Usako. That makes me feel a lot better about this!'' He said before going on.) I planned it this way so I wouldn't feel awkward about the situation and everything. As of now, you know my secret and you share it with me and the scouts, and while you lay on my bed drooling (Mamoru blushed) and snoring a bit (He started to blush even harder) I find myself writing this to you. I want you to read my diary. It sounds queer, and not normal, but hopefully this will give you a better understanding why I say ''an awkward situation'' and if you don't feel you want to know my life's detail and you actually respect my privacy, fine. But you HAVE to read the last 10 entries in this diary. Thank you Mamoru. It's not a formal ending, but I can't think of an ending or closure well suited to the situation. I sound kind of business like too. Which is kind of scary. Okay... yea... er, bye. Sincerely, Usagi-chan Mamoru laughed at the ending, because it sounded so like his Usako. He decided to start from the very beginning, since he had her permission of course. The diary didn't look like it had a lot of entries in it, but it sure filled him in a lot of information from the last year. The very first entry was a sad and a bit scary. It was about the first day as a Sailor senshi, how she was the only one on the job. Sailor Venus had disappeared right as Sailor Moon came on the scene, or that's what her cat Luna said. Usagi had written in the entry that she wasn't able to get over how her cat was able to talk, then she started to write in full detail, and then she came to the point where she mentioned Tuxedo-kamen sama's first appearance. Mamoru laid back and relaxed when he came to this part, because he didn't really live his first appearance, he remembered it like a dream, but it was hazy. Then as he read further on about his first appearance it became more and more clear. The dreams he had in the far past that had him as Tuxedo-kamen sama was completely true! It baffled him how he hadn't thought of it way back then, over a year ago. Entries flew past him as he read with complete interest. The book, or rather diary were just descriptions of every battle and hardship and joy she had. The very important entries like when and how the senshi joined up with Sailor Moon and fought off every adversary that came across and every time Tuxedo-kamen sama came to her rescue. She noted that every time he had picked her up and brought her to safety made her feel like she was flying. Usagi-chan had talked about her crush Matoki-kun and how she got over him. Then she met this guy named Mamoru-kun. She had explained in full detail about him too, just the way she talked about Tuxedo-kamen sama and Matoki-kun. This sparked Mamoru's interest even more and he became more involved in reading the entries after entries. It was the last three entries that sparked his interest the most. ''Right in the last few entries of Usako's diary has talked about nothing except for me and the last battle and what that could mean. But why? (A.N. These next few sentences are an excerpt from the diary entry.) I close my eyes and wonder all day long why I think about Mamoru-kun the way I do. Then I find myself blushing and smiling uncontrollably. Then for some reason I cry, but I have yet to figure out why I cry when I think about him. I think It maybe because I know it could never work out between us. I think that I am actually falling for him, but because of me being a senshi, my life is always at stake, and he always quarrels with me, and says how klutzy I am and how I don't and never could get good grades. But I resolved right now, well actually a minute ago, that somehow some way I will get him to like me back. I will try to improve, but it's hard. I know I can though, and I love my life that was given to me. It is my destiny to fight evil, and everyone has a place and time to die, and for me... I honestly don't think it will happen anytime soon or far into the future. So here I come my Mamo-chan, watch out for Usagi-chan, 'cause I am coming to get you, and make you mine!'' Mamoru-kun was completely baffled. 'Does she actually feel this way about me?' Mamoru thought. 'This was dated over four weeks ago, has she felt this way for so long?' BUZZ! Mamoru fell off the couch completely out of surprise as the doorbell rang and Matoki-kun waltzed in on Mamoru just to see him smash his head into the coffee table and throw the book into the drawer only to smash his hand in the process. Matoki-kun laughed hard and walked further into hallway. BAM! Matoki-kun slipped on the pile of papers that had been carelessly spread upon the floor and smacked his head on the door that had closed behind him. Mamoru-kun looked at his friend rub his head and look at the pile of papers all over the floor. Mamoru-kun stifled a laugh but let it go by the glare of surprise that Matoki-kun gave Mamoru-kun. ''Since when have to messed up your apartment like this?'' Matoki-kun asked. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* How was this chapter? I like it, so tell me how you liked it.
