Chapter 3 Darien stood watching anxiously from behind a big oak tree that stood just outside central park. He had found John and followed him to Serena. Darien tagged along the entire date without Serena or John seeing him. Now he waited for what John had been planning. Though Darien didn't go one minute without thinking of making John pay, but he decided to give him the benifit of the doubt. He could have heard wrong. Darien decided to follow them just to make sure. He vowed to protect Serena from any danger that night. Serena and John were sitting on a park bench together talking. Serena thought about how the day had gone... perfect. She had gone out to icecream with him before seeing a movie. Now she was just waiting for him to walk her home. But before when she had suggested she go home john had acted a little strange. He insisted on them taking a walk in the park. Now they were together in the park which now lay totally deserted. John looked at Serena, 'She is so vonerable now. I can't believe how stupid she is. Now's my chance, no one will ever hear her scream...' Darien watched as John grabbed Serena's hand and restled her down against her will. Of course he didn't even get as far as to lay the other hand down. Darien had him on the ground in two seconds. Serena just watched what was happening, too terrified to understand what just happened. Punches were thrown and soon John was running down the street as fast as his legs could carry him. Serena watched as he ran, her mind starting to clear. She turned to Darien who was breathing heavily, recovering from the fight. He stood there for a few seconds without saying a word, but scanned her over to make sure she was alright. Her whisper was barely audible when she finally spoke. "Thank you... uh, are you ok? Thank you... oh, I was so scared..." That's all that escaped her lips before she started to sob. In less than a moment Darien had his arms around her, as he spoke soft soothing words of comfort into her hair. The shaking form in his arms clung to him as if he were the only thing supporting her from falling. He slowly made his way back to the bench, still holding the girl. He sat down and pulled Serena onto his lap, rocking her slowly as she cried into his shirt. When her sobs finally subsided she remained for quite sometime in his strong, loving embrace. She felt safe and warm while a strange comfort enveloped her. She raised her eyes to his looking deeply into an azure gaze that she was sure she hadn't noticed before. She was still seated in his lap while her hands rested on his chest. One of his hands was held rather posesively on her waist while the other stroked throught her gold hair, gently caressing the back of her neck and sending tingles down her spine. Never once had John ever made her feel this way. Darien looked deep into Serena's eyes, not removing his hands from where they were. He would never let go of this angel. Her hair felt so soft in between his fingers and the smell of her shampoo enveloped his senses. She looked so beautiful in the moonlight, her blue eyes looking into his with such force that he felt her reading his soul like a book. His other hand rested on her waist, holding her close to him. Then she broke the silence, "Thank you... Darien, thank you for saving me." He didn't answer but instead pulled her into his arms nearer to him. He looked at her one more time before leaning forward ever so slowly... 'Oh my gosh, he's gonna kiss me!' Serena thought as she leaned in also, not doubting for one moment her actions. His lips just barely and inch away he stopped to whisper to her, "Serena... I love you". "Darien.... I..... love.." Their lips me softly, gently, as Darien's arms pulled her body against his. He deepened the kiss, gently coaxing her mouth slowly open. She matched his kisses with her own, feeling his love through his lips that were now assaulting her own. She felt warm and fuzzy all over. Her hands were stroking through his black hair. BEEP!!!! BEEP!!!!!! BEEP!!!! The communicater brought the two lovers abruptly apart. "Ummm... Sorry Darien I have to go now..." He looked at her puzzled as she stood up and grabbed her purse. "What? I don't understand..." She put two fingers to his lips to silence him. "Sorry... I love you" She pulled his lips to hers qickly for one last earth shattering kiss, before turning to leave the park. Once out of sight, Serena pulled out her communicator and glared at the picture in front of her. "Raye... couldn't you have gone once without sailor moon? I was REALLY busy and..." "Serena we need you NOW! This is an emergancy! Jupiter and mercury were hit and Venus is hurt pretty badly too... please hurry! I don't think.." But all that could be heard was static, the picture blank. "Raye?!" Serena pulled out her locket, which shone in the moonlight. "MOON PRISM POWER!!!!!!" In a flash of ribbons, Light, and magic, sailor moon now stood where Serena once had.
