Moonlit Angel: Good-bye ...He lunged at her, black limestone sword in hand. Suddenly, out of no where, Luna, Serena’s “winged” horse, came flying at Diamond. A crescent glowed on its forehead and a white beam shot out from it. It hit Diamond in the stomach. He screamed out in pain and put a hand to his stomach, “I’ll be back!” he yelled and disappeared. Serena turned to Luna and smiled. She hugged her, “Oh, thank you, Luna, I don’t know what I’d do with out you.” she said, Luna neighed. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ (Darien’s room) “Woah...” the four generals breathed. Darien was so captured by the beauty of the silver rose that he now held in his hand, he didn’t notice the cold air and ice blue mist fogging the room. “Um..Darien?” Kunzite’s voice brought him out of his stupor. “What the hell is going on?!” he said. “Hehe, we were hoping you knew.” Nephlyte said. “Mommy!” Jedite started to cry, that is, until Zoycite hit him over the head..hard. “OW! What’s you do that for?!!” “Jedite, shuttup.” “Sorry.” The fog filled the room, making it so you couldn’t see 1 foot ahead of you. Then there was a laugh...an evil laugh. “You fools, have you earthlings always been stupid or have you taken lessons?” the voice said. “Who are you? What do you want?” Darien asked and he could just feel the evil being smirk. “I’m sure you’ve heard of me, does Diamond ring a bell?” Darien frowned, “You’re the ass that killed Serena.” Darien spat coldly. “Haha, touché, but yes, I am he.” “What do you want?” “Your life.” “WHAT?!!” the generals shouted. “Diamond, leave this place, you’re not to be here!” an old sounding female voice said, Diamond growled. “YOU have no business here, Dirna!” he yelled and suddenly the fog cleared to reveal an old woman, in a long white dress; her white hair pulled back in a tight bun and her sea green eyes flaring with anger. “I said LEAVE!” Diamond frowned, “Fine.” he said, crossing his arms as he faded away. “Sorry for that unpleasantness. Now, my name is Dirna and I’m Serena’s guardian --troublesome little thing, she is-- but anyway, I need you to break your promise to her; if you feel she is in trouble, then go to her.” “But, she sa--” “Do not mind what she said, I’m telling you, if you feel she is in trouble, go to her; I am her guardian and I know better. She’s a very stubborn angel. Do you know, she’s going to give up her life to Diamond so you can live?” “What?! But, she can’t do that?! I won’t let her!!” “Good, I’m glad we agree. Now, I must go.” she said as she began to fade. “Wait! How do I--” “No questions, just concentrate your energy.” and with that she was gone. “Ok, you know what? I’ve had enough suprise visits for the day.” Jedite said dazedly and fainted. The guys pulled Jedite up and placed him on the bed, Darien just put a thoughtful hand to his forehead and said, “Concentrate my energy for what?” ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ (outside the door) (AN: seem familiar?) Beryl took her eye away from the cracked open door, “She..she...the angel is.. the angel’s real...” and with that she fainted also, with a loud thud. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ (inside the room) All the guys turned their heads to the door. “What was that?” Kunzite asked and Zoycite went to the door. When he opened, he was greeted by...Beryl sprawled out on the floor?! He picked her up and brought her into the room and set her on the bed, next to Jedite. “JESUS! Why does she have to wear so much damn perfume? She reeks!!” “OH MAN, this is what hell must smell like!” Nephlyte added. “Oh do you put up with this?” Zoycite asked, hand over his nose and mouth. Darien shrugged, “Easy, I don’t, see ya!” he said and started walking out. “Wait, where ya goin?” “I’ll be right back, don’t worry.” ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ (in the gardens) Darien walked out to the rose garden and sat down on a bench. He looked up at the pink sky and remembered yesterday, one of the best days he’d had in a long time. He had met Serena...he had fallen in love. Then, one question ran through his head, ‘Am I gonna die today.. saving Serena’s life? Will we even get to meet tonight at twelve? Will I ever see her again, after this day?’ He laid down on the bench and put his hands behind his head. He closed his eyes as a warm breeze swept by and suddenly, a picture of Serena came into mind: She was sitting in front of the waterfall, her long, golden hair flowing gently in the wind, her beautiful blue eyes looking out into the woods, and her pearl white wings folded at her back. He sighed and didn’t even notice the sound of soft foot steps come and stop before him. “Darien?” he heard his mother’s voice and opened his eyes. “Yes, Mother?” “Is there something wrong?” she asked as she sat down beside him and put a hand to his cheek. “Is there anything I can do to help?” Darien smiled, “No,” he whispered. “there is nothing you can do.” he stood up, she followed. “And...if I never see you again; good-bye, Mother, I’ll always love you.” he said and kissed her cheek. With that he walked back to the castle. A single tear rolled down Celest’s face as she watched her son’s back, “Oh Darien...” ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ (Darien’s room) Darien walked through the door to see the generals all standing at the window, Beryl at the other side of the room, and Jedite just waking up. “Darien, are you alright?” Zoycite asked, concerned about his best friend. Darien nodded with a slight smile and turned to Jedite, “Jed, how ‘bout you, you ok?” “Yea, just a little dizzy and...what the hell is that smell?” Darien ignored the question and turned his attention to Beryl, “Beryl, you can’t tell anyone about what you saw, understand? No one.” Beryl smirked, “Ok.. Dare-bear.” “Ugh, and don’t call me that.” “Sorry,” she said, trying to sound innocent. “but I just don’t understand why you would want a dead person when you could have me, I mean, I’m right here and I’m actually alive.” “Get out.” Darien growled and Beryl gasped. “But Dar--” “I said, get out.” “Fine, if that’s the way you want it,” she said as her eyes began to water. “Yes, that’s the way I want it.” “and you’ll be happy this way.” “Truly and undeniably happy.” “Ok,” she started, her voice breaking down. “good-bye, Darien!” “Bye!” he said, his voice full of annoyance. And with that, she ran out crying. “Wonderful, now I’ll probably have to fumigate the whole damn room.” he said as he and the generals broke out laughing. After a while, the laughing died down and they were holding their stomachs and wiping tears away from their eyes, “Oh Lord, I haven’t laughed that hard since we firs met Beryl.” Jedite said and the guys all nodded their agreement. “Hey, just wondering, what’s the date?” Darien asked. Kunzite looked to the calendar, “It’s theeeee.. twenty-fourth.” he said and Darien froze as all color left his skin. “Woah, Darien, you feelin’ alright? You look kinda sick.” Nephlyte said. “Serena...” was all Darien whispered before he ran out of the room. Darien ran out the castle doors and was greeted by Luna, waiting for him. He got onto the horse and Luna flew him to Serena as fast as she could go.... ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ (the woods) Diamond stood close behind Serena with both arms around her waist. He leaned his head forward so that she could feel his cold breath on her skin, “Why don’t you make this less painful for yourself and just say you’ll marry me, hmm?” “Never.” she whispered coldly. He turned her around so she was facing him, “Alright then, have it your way.” He pulled her closer and kissed her roughly. She tore away from him and ran as fast as she could, heading towards the waterfall, Diamond right on her heels. When she reached the waterfall, she stopped and Diamond grabbed her, taking her into the cave, under the waterfall. He stood with one arm tight around her slim waist and the other holding his sword with the cold, black blade pressed lightly against the soft skin of her neck. “This seems vaguely familiar, doesn’t it?” Diamond asked and laughed. Serena just looked ahead, face expressionless. Diamond frowned, “You’re not afraid of me, are you?” he asked. “No. But I should be, shouldn’t I? Considering how ugly, cruel and selfish you are.” she said and the blade came closer to her neck. “Hm, Brat.” he said and sighed conceitedly. “Oh well, you didn’t deserve me anyway.” The long blade slid slowly through her throat as she squinted her eyes in pain and tried to breathe in. When the blade was complete with its task, her eyes closed and she fell, limp, to the ground. “So beautiful, yet so stubborn.” he shook his head as he walked out of the cave. “He leaned against a tree and sighed, “Well, ol’ prince charming should be here in 1..2..3.” He laughed slightly as he saw Luna and the prince flying towards him. The landed and Darien walked up to Diamond. Diamond smirked, “You’re too late, Little Prince.” he pointed to the waterfall. Darien slowly turned his head to the waterfall. He thought he’d die right there; the water was a dark red. “No.” he whispered as Diamond started to laugh maniacally. “Bastard, you’ll die for this.” Darien growled. “Oh, will I? I think not. And bastard, rather harsh, don’t you think?” he held his sword up to the sky. “Say good-bye, Little Prince.” Suddenly, he and the sword were enveloped in a purple light which seemed to be getting bigger by the second. The light vanished and in Diamond’s place stood an ice blue/purple, ten ft. wide, and twenty ft. tall dragon! (AN: I just watched “Sleeping Beauty” with my little cousin, so what do you except? A Bunny?!!) “Oh shit.. ok, this isn’t fair.” Darien said as he noticed a foot about to come down on him. He closed his eyes tight and waited for the pain....it never came. He cracked open one eye and noticed he was on Luna’s back and flying. “Hehe, thanks.” he said, a little embarrassed. But then, he noticed that Luna was taking him straight for the dragon’s mouth. “Wait! No, turn around!! HELLOOO, ARE YOU NUTS?!! TURN AROUND!” he started to yell just as Luna went right into its mouth. Luna landed on the tongue, “Where’s the light switch? And DAMN, this thing’s breath smells worse than Beryl’s perfume!” he said and the horse seemed to laugh. The crescent on the horse’s forehead lit up so there was light then it started to fly towards the throat. “Oh no, please no. Don’t to this to me! Why me?” he said and screamed as they went full speed down into the dragon’s stomach. “When this is over, remind me to KILL you!” Darien yelled. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ (Darien’s room) “Ok, do you guys see that too?” Jedite asked and the others nodded. “K, just checking.” “Ahem.” they heard Dirna’s voice behind them and turned around. “Oh, uh, hi.” Kunzite said, a little confused. “Your friend Darien is fighting that thing, you know?” “Darien? And that thing?!” Nephlyte asked. “Yes, and that’s why I need you to send your energy to him, that’s the only way he’ll be able to defeat the dragon.” she said and, suddenly, disappeared. They all closed their eyes and concentrated on getting their energy to their prince. Then they started to glow --Kunzite> white, Nephlyte> green, Jedite> gold, Zoycite> Blue-- (AN: those are just the colors that I think they should have, I don’t know their real colors) ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ (Dragon’s stomach) Darien noticed his sword start glowing. He took it out and watched it change from silver to green to gold to blue. He smiled, ‘Thanks guys.’ he thought and put his energy into the sword, now it glowed silver. He turned to Luna, “Take me to the heart.” he said and Luna did as told. She stopped at a black ball, which was beating slowly. He shoved the sword through it until he knew it went to the outside of the dragon and he heard a death screech as fire flew past them and probably went to the dragon’s mouth. “Come on, let’s get outa here.” they went back up to the mouth and flew out just as it closed its mouth. They watched as small rays of light shot out of the dragon as it continued to sreach and breath fire, then...it blew up. While Luna was jumping up with joy and neighing happily, Darien walked into the cave to Serena’s corpse. He knelt down beside her and lifted her back, her wings limp and hanging on the floor. He put his hand just above the slit in her neck as a silver light closed the cut and the blood stopped flowing. Luna walked into the cave and sat down on the other side of Serena. “Serena, you can’t leave me,” Darien started, a tear rolled down his cheek. “I need you.. I love you,” he buried his face in the crook of her neck...colder than before...and cried. “please, don’t leave me...” Darien, suddenly, felt her skin begin to warm and her body started to lift into the air. He stood up and watched as her wings wrap themselves around her, then a bright, platinum colored light flashed and Serena was on the ground again. Her wings- gone, her dress had changed, (AN: she’s in her Princess Serenity dress now) a small diamond studded tiara sat atop of her golden mane, and a glowing crescent at her forehead. She sat up slowly, a confused look in her eyes, which seemed to be even bluer than they were before. She looked down at her dress, then at her surroundings and saw Luna sitting next to her and Darien standing 2 ft. away from her. She stood up, “I’m alive.” Darien couldn’t believe what she had just said, he walked up to her, “You-you’re alive?” she smiled and nodded. She through her arms around his neck and he slid his arms around her waist, now both of them were crying. “Serena, did you.. hear what I said when...?” he trailed off and she nodded. “Darien, I love you too.” she whispered and kissed him. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ (Heaven) Dirna smiled and wiped the tears away from her eyes as she watched the happy couple embrace, “Good-bye, Serena.” she whispered and walked away. _________________________________________________________________ I’M DONE!!
