Title: Symbol of a Raven By: Mystical Angel Chapter: 6 Rating: PG Disclaimers: Doesn't it get kind of hard to write this many disclaimers? For all of these chapters? I am getting tired of it already! Okay, as usual… Sailor Moon belongs to Naoko Takeuchi. Symbol of a Raven Chapter 6 "Serena! Okay, you know the guy named Seiya that was totally hitting on you earlier? He offered Mina, Raye, you, and me a ride. He offered on to Amy, but she was getting one from her "boyfriend" Greg. The guy we met at the park a few days ago." "He is not my boyfriend Lita." "Oh sure, then why did he ask you to a sundae? And then to do something afterwards? And why did you except? Hmm?" Lita batted her eyelashes in Amy's direction. Amy blushed realizing that it did sound like a date. "Uh, no thanks. I am not interested in him. I can walk, home is not that far from here." "Okay, well everyone is leaving so I guess I will see you tomorrow at the arcade at 12:00?" "Sure, no problem. Bye Lita." "See you." Serena picked up her miniature back pack and stuffed her sun block, and her soaking wet towel into it. She Put on her shorts and since her suit was still damp the water soaked through a bit. Andrew was also getting ready to leave, and Darien who had left a while ago had come back with a pair of keys in his hands. Andrew who had saw Serena still here walked over to her and sat down next to her standing form in a lawn chair. "Need a ride home? It's kind of far from your house you know." "It's not that far." "A good half hour walk easy. Darien can give you a lift. He has his car here, he's giving me one too. It will be a lot easier. So?" "If it's okay with Darien." Serena said. "It's fine with me. I can give you a lift." Darien said. "Oh god, you scared me. Thank you Darien." Serena stammered. There was an uneasy tension between the two, neither of them said anything after that. Serena and Rita had one last quick conversation over on the other side of the pool. Andrew had asked Serena to get his house keys, and meanwhile he wanted to ask a few questions. Then she got caught up saying good-bye to Rita. "Hey Darien, we are best friends right?" Andrew asked. "Yeah, why? You having second doubts?" Darien responded. Darien sat down on top of one of the lawn chairs. Having a serious talk with Andrew over something so sensetive as this had never come up, so he thought that something serious was wrong. "Well, you dinied it earlier, but I do not believe you. I want to know if you and Serena, well, how do I say this. Is there something going on between you two? I mean, you guys have not ripped each others head off all day, all week for that matter." Andrew looked at Darien, his head was turned and bent. Eyes closed and mouth slightly agape he said nothing. "Hi guys. Sorry it took so long. I was caught up telling Rita had annoying this guy named Seiya was. He kept on hitting on me. Hey, what's wrong with you two? You look so serious right now." Serena said. Darien looked up and just noticed what type of swim suit she wore to the party. He never noticed before just now. It looked amazing on her. Extrodinary. She had the most perfect figure he had ever seen on a girl. Just last night he saw a commercial with a supposed gorgous girl advertising for a cosmetic of some sort. In Darien's eyes, that woman looked no where near as good as Serena. Serena had everything. Except for a boyfriend, but at this rate she would have one in a matter of days. She was just too beautiful and popular, and nice to be ignored by any guy. He knew he would have to work fast to improve his own charms. Would Andrew's advice help him? He knew that he was able to trust in him to keep his secret al right. In the back of his mind he heard a voice. A haunting voice, but a voice none of the less. It was very vague, but also very forthright. It was a woman's voice, a charmingly scary voice telling him to seek love at the first chance he got. For he may lose what he did not already have, and then it would be gone forever. The voice was also scratchy, like she were a smoker, but wasn't. It was familiar in so many assuring ways possible though. Not threatining in any way, but a voice in which Darien could seek advice. It was Marie"s voice. The voice was just too far away to make out exactly what she was saying, but Darien knew it was advice. "Are you listening to me Darien? Hello? Earth to Darien, come in Darien." Yelled another voice. "Oh, sorry Andrew. Is everyone ready to leave?" Andrew shook his head and laughed. "I've never seen you this zoned out before, what has come over you? New girlfriend?" Darien looked as if he were about to stab him with a knife. Serena giggled, but said nothing. She was flustered, her face was turning the colr of a pink rose. Darien rose from the chair, followed by Andrew and Serena they made their way to the door, they yelled farwell to Rita as they left. Darien's car was parked across the street, a nice red sports car. The sun was turning a golden yellow by now. The sky turning a purplish color made it a romantic scene. The golen sun starting to set beneath the horizon of green grass and the deep blue sea of glittering sparkles was all Serena needed to sigh. The air was beginning to get cool enough for a light jacket; a slight breeze brew up with the upcoming summer storm that was expected to hit for the night. As the three walked down the street to Darien's car the light reflected the three face's. The light made their bodies glow with the damp droplets of water in their hair and on their skin. Darien noted this; whenever, if ever, he and Serena are on a date some time, he should take her for a walk underneath the glimmering sun. She was enjoying the view from atop of the hill that they were on just then. Thinking of all the romantic places to take Serena over welmed him with joy, it made his body feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. The rose gardens, the beach, and a romantic walk under the moolight to stimulate her for a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant. 'In your dreams Darien.' Darien chuckled at himself; talking to himself was not the way to go. Serena sat in the back of the car, much to Andrew's protest though. He knew something was up. He could feel it. It was a boring ride for the most part. None of them talked, none of them made as much as a glance or just a cough to show lack of enthusiasm. The lights for advertisment or products flew past with a blink of an eye, but finally they had reached a small house, still decorated in Christmas decorations and new year holiday greetings. "I guess I should take those down, huh?" Andrew laughed, he reached for his bag and opened the door with a turn of the handle. "See you tomorrow Darien. I'll see you around Serena. Bye." Andrew waved and he was out of sight threw the door to his home. To reach Serena's home you had to pass a major highway, and it was about six thirty, rush hour in central Tokyo. The sky was still golden, but it was getting darker, the head lights of the cars that passed by on the other side of the road seemed to go about fifty miles per hour compaired to what Darien and Serena, and the other half of Tokyo were going. They were stuck in a grid lock. There was construction down the highway about two or three miles away, and they were stuck. No onw could move any more than an inch, if that. A little ways behind Serena and Darien was a sign that said… "Warning. Grid lock expected from 6:00-9:00 due to construction. At the end of the so called "grid lock" Darien groaned and hit his head against the steering wheel a little and looked back at where Serena was sitting. "Do you want to come up here? We are going to be here for a few hours or so. An expected grid lock has become reality. You are able to adjust the seating of the front seat; you can rest if you want." Darien looked tired, and was that… nervousness on his face? "Thanks, I think I will." Serena climbed from the back seat after undoing the buckle. Darien cleared his cellular phone from Serena's path and lightly rubbed her behind by accident. He blushed a crimson red when Serena looked at him questionally. Her hair, still down; now dry, brushed his knees because of it's lengnth. When he turned away to hide his red face Darien was cursing under his breath to do such a stupid thing. 'You idiot! Dumb, dumb, dumb!' "What did you say?" Serena asked. Her own nervousness about being near him wore off after a while, but it still lurked in her mind. "Oh nothing. Just talking to myself." He replied. Serena adjusted her belt buckle as she sat down and looked out the window, noticing her own embarrassment her face also turned a bright color that showed up very well. Darien noticed her hand pick up and cover her face. But he also noticed that the sun visor was down, he was able to see her hand over the side of her face and her eyes were closed. There was a bright colored that started to disappear from her face. The window to the car was open, a coll breeze blew in from the South, the direction of the thunderstorm. Darien rested his head on his hand that leaned on the side of him on the open window, and smiled to himself. A song on the radio came on by an artist Serena had never heard of. It was a slow song, very symbolic for the love of a young man that this girl loved, but he never returned the love. She knew it was meant to be from the moment she first laid eyes on him. As the young girl's story continues it worsens. Later, they met and she fell in love all over! ! again. But the guy was mistaken for her love, he called it harrassment, and called a restraining order against her, from the years on she never sought love, no one had ever taken her heart like that. At the end of the song the young woman, now older made a speech. "Young ladies, and men. Love is a valuable thing to just throw away and waste. The song I wrote was true in every way; I still await my one true love to come to his senses, but unfortunatly it will never happen. He died after the restraining order was put forth. He will never understand my love for him until I come and visit him, then I will be everything that I wanted. Young people out there, be perceptible with the ones you love, you will be very sorry if you do not. Thank you for listening, and hopefully understanding. Find love in your liftime, I will never love again, please do not make my mistake. Love them." The song died away, and Darien heard a cry from the other seat next to him. "What's wrong with you?" "It was so sad!" Serena cried between sobs. In the car next to the two Darien's there was a young couple holding each other. Serena laughed and took a tissue from Darien's tissue box. She rested her hand on Darien's shoulder and told him to look. "They must have been listening to the same song and speech. It was just too sad!" Serena leaned over on his shoulder and cried a bit. Realizing what she was doing, she quickly stopped at once and looked up at the astonished face of Darien Chiba. He smiled and placed his hand on her back and patted with a touch of uneasiness on his face. Serena blushed. She forgot all about hidding her feelings for the moment and laid her head back on his shoulder. He continued to pat for a moment before Serena thinking 'What the heck am I doing!?' jumped up and sat back in her chair quite embarrassed with herself. 'I'm not suppose to show him that! Geez Serena! It's just as bad as a klutz attack!' Darien did not seem surprised. 'I sho! ! uld have guessed.' Darien thought. 'Too good to last. Figures.' Darien made a strange face when he thought his comments. Serena looked totally embarrassed, Darien did not know what to do. Ever sice he had driven her home from the park that one time, their hate relationship turned into a love/hate relationship. Neither of them knew how to act or what to say to each other. They both knew that neither of them had forgotten that night, but both of them acted as if they had. In the horizon the sun was setting beautifully. The golden yellow was turning into a bright orange in the distance. Serena stared out into the horizon and occasionally at the big blue water. The moon started to show it's glowing face for the night not long ago. Pretty soon the cresent moon would shine down upon the honking cars with bright yellow head-lights. Sighing, her heavy eyelids started to close, but afraid of humiliation she opened then again and looked at Darien. He was staring back. He just stared at her profile, not even noticing she was looking back he kept staring without blinking once. There was no use to watch out ahead of you, the grid-lock was not, and would not move for a long, long time. "It's exhilerating outside, isn't it?" Serena said nervously to the staring Darien. Darien who was startled out of his trance sat up and cleared his throat. "What? Outside?" For some reason, Serena noticed Darien's face was flushing a light, light pink. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ e-mail me at milky_way173@ix.netcom.com
