Title: Symbol of a Raven By: Mystical Raven Chapter: 7 Rating: PG Disclaimers: I want to say sorry that my story is so gosh darn long, but I try. As always… sailor moon doesn't belong to me… but I want your thoughts about my story. Is it way too long? I am still about half way into it by now though. Hehe hehe. J Symbol of a Raven Chapter 7 "Yeah, with all the colors mixing, and with the cresent moon beaming down with it's brilliance." Serena sighed. Darien grinned. "I had no idea you knew such big words Meatball Head." "Yeah well, I am full of surprises." Serena said smiling. She looked back out the open, but half closed window and gasped. "Darien? Oh god, why me?" Serena squealed. "What?" He said alarmed. "I keep seeing black ravens, and everytime I see one there always seem to be more. Oh, I hate this." "Where? I see them all the time too, but no one else does." Darien leaned over Serena's body and took a look out the window, and also gasped in surprise. "What the… holy cow. We must be cursed." "They scare the living he-I wont say that, but they do. Wait, look at the car next to us. Is that Mr. Raquelle?" Serena said questionally. Darien looked at the car practically parked next to them. It was a man. In a formal suit that closly looked like Mr. Rquelle's. "Yeah, I think it is. Man, is that freaky." "Who cares about him, look at the birds. They are gone!" Serena screached. HONK! HONK! "Shut up! I'm coming!" Darien yelled. The grid-lock looked as if it had eased up a bit and people behind Darien and Serenawere honking madly. Cars started to pass them. Flashback: "Now my child, look for a raven of black. It will symbolize your life in the near future. Look hard, but search for the answer easily. It will come to you. A quote I heard as a young girl. Black as ebony, bright as love." "RAVEN OF BLACK. BLACK AS EBONY, BRIGHT AS LOVE." End flashback. "Raven of black. Black as ebony, bright as love." Serena mumbled mesmorised. "Are you all right?" Darien asked. Serena had zoned out for a moment; Darien had thought something was wrong with her so he pulled over at the nearest possible place. "Serena? You are beginning to scare me, please snap out of it." Darien turned off the engine and shook Serena's shoulders to wake her from the trance like state. "Wha…oh, sorry Darien." Serena said still half mesmorised. "Are you okay? What happened, how do you feel? Bad, good? What?" "I'm fine. I am sorry to worry you." Serena removed the hair from her mouth. She looked at Darien's face horrified. 'What was that?' She asked herself. "No, your not. People just do not zone out like that and mumble to themselves. Is there something bothering you, that you would like to talk to someone about? I'll always be at your side if you need to talk." "You are right. I'm not okay. I just had the strangest case of déjà vu, from the last few minutes that I had spoken to Marie." While listening to Serena's explanation of her strange déjà vu, Darien noticed tear threatening to pour from her eyes. "And for some reason that quote or sentence that Marie said to me had like, I do not know, stood out." "What was what stood out again?" Darien asked. "Black of a raven. Black as ebony, bright as love. For some strange reason, it feels like a vital piece of information, that I should know to actually solve why the ravens are wherever I go. The night you dropped me off after the game at the park, I saw five of them. I told Sammy, and, and" Serena was now crying. "He thought I was crazy, because just like that (Serena snapped her fingers) they vanished. It haunts me, and in the strangest of times, I think about it, and something weirder will come up. Like someone else would be talking about the prettiest black bird they ever saw. I have no idea what is going on Darien. What does all of this mean? It scares me to death!" Darien handed Serena the tissue box. She took a few and blew her nose violently. Her arms flailed in the sir like she had no idea what was going on. 'What do I do now? If I try to comfort her, it might get weird afterward. Then again, if I don't she might hate me for not doing it.' Darien thoug! ! ht. Before Darien had time to react Serena jumped into his arms and cried. Instinct took over and he held her trying to be brave for her sake, but was starting to fail. Just the thought of that one night brought memories flooding back to his mind. The car trip, full of laughter, and then how he acted like an idiot, but then the kiss was different. The thoughts flew past his memory and to his lips. The taste of her mouth and the warmth she let in was overwhelming. Without even noticing her placed butterfly kisses gently on her forehead as she clamed down. One after another Serena let her eyes close, as Darien realized what he was doing. It felt so perfect, but he knew it could not and should not last. The only thing was that she did not respond negativly to his touch, and his mouth on her forehead. He looked down at the form of her body stretched over the middle of the seats and her head was resting on his broad chest. Serena could feel his chest heaving up and down, up and down. Her head just laid resting on his chest. She felt warm, and safe, a feeling she never felt with any guy before. Her eyes eased themselves closed as he placed more butterfly kisses on her head. Her eyes made there way back open. She sat up sort of and unbickled her belt so she would be more comfortable. Darien sat surprised as she made her way into his lap. He had opened his arms for her to make her way closer. He was suddenly feeling quiesy, and extremely nervous. He had only dated a few times in his life. That one girl who broke his heart and Raye, Serena's best friend. Never, in a million years had he ever thought Serena would be a possibility. He thought she hated him. A shift in his lap told him to look down at her. His eyes slowly fell down her head, and saw her eyes meet his. It was a locked stare immediately. Serena's eyes sparkled at him with hope. Hope of what, Darien did not know, but he ! ! did have one thing in his mind as he stared into those pretty blue eyes. Another taste. Darien licked his lips. And in response Serena raised her head. Their forms inched closer as if in a movie. Their lips met with passion, but gentle tenderness. It started with one short sweet light kiss. Both pairs of eyes were still open. But slowly, as more gentle kisses were placed, the eyes began to seal shut. One by one the kisses faded away to another being placed. By now Serena's body was well on top of his. His hands were supporting her body, by laying on her lower back and partially on her butt. The gentle kisses were completely gone by now. Different kisses platered themselves on their lips. The sky was blue, night had fallen, and so did two young people. The cresent moon beamed over their bodies. Serena entered her deserted home, well after eleven, when Darien finally decided to take Serena home, but then the grid-lock did not ease up until well after ten thirty. Niether of the two spoke for the rest of the ride back to Serena's home, partly because she fell asleep. But now wide awake, and extremely giddy Serena lightly closed her front door and leaned against the back of it breathing in heavily. She let her hands touch over her body where Darien's hands and mouth had touched. She giggled and jumped up and down once, and squealed like a pig. Trying to calm down she walked quickly to the leather couch; Serena jumped on the couch and squealed again in the pillow. Serena laid on her back, pillow against her chest. Darien was all she could think of right at the moment. 'So he does care.' Serena thought. She swooned and switched positions to her side facing the couch cushions. She fell asleep thinking about Darien, and woke up thinking about him. "Serena, I will always be by your side, no matter what. I love you." "Serena! Wake up you lazy bum!" Yelled a voice. "You got a phone call! For crying out loud Serena! Wake up!" The voice had hands, and those hands shook Serena's body, so that she went flying to the ground with a thud. "Sammy! I am going to kill you!" Serena screamed as she rose from the floor. She hit her head on the coffee table. "Don't kill me now. You have a phone call. Someone named Julia. She asked for you right away. Serena jumped up from the floor and ran to the phone; tripping on the wire she dropped the phone, but eventually was able to pick it up and hold it to her ear. "Hello?" Serena asked. "Serena? It's Julia. Do you remember the quack a long time ago, that wanted to speak with you? And then she said that my boyfriend was cheating on me? Well, he just broke up with me." Julia started to cry her eyes out. Serena could hear tear drops on the receiver of the phone. "But Julia, I thought you two were intimate." "I thought so too, but her said that he met someone in January and he loved him more." "Him?!" "He also said he was bisexual. Oh Serena, I do not know what to do. I miss him so much. He even kissed the guy, whose name was Mike, right in front of me. I saw his tongue Serena! He French kissed the guy!" Serena heard more tears. "And I think it was all that quack's fault. She made him somehow become bisexual. He now goes to gay bars and everything. I don't know what to do now." "I don't think that she would do that." "Serena, you have a letter from the court. You are not being sued are you? Are you?" Mrs. Tsukino said. "What?! A letter from the court! Holy cow! Julia? I have to go. Please forgive me. I will try to talk to you later. Bye." "Okay, bye then." Julia said "What do you mean from the court? Give me that." "Serena? Are you going to open that package from so long ago today?" Sammy said. "You're still here?" Serena said opening her letter. "Yeah, maybe. Why?" "Because I want to know what's in it." "Buzz off Sammy. Even if I did tell you that I was going to open it, I wouldn't let you see what's in it. Serena finally got the letter open and began to read. Dear Ms. Tsukino, The court of Jubaan district would like to inform you to attend a disagreement court session with Mr. Raquelle as the Plaintiff, and you as the Defendant. The court meeting will be on June 15th at 12:00. Sincerely, Judge Joseph Judge Joseph "Oh, no. I am being sued, for something that was given to me. What do I do mom?" Serena handed her mother the letter that was addressed to Serena. Mrs. Tsukino read it and gasped. She held her hand over her mouth as she read further, and then she read the letter again, and again, until the doorbell startled them both making them jump about a mile high. "Sammy! Open the door!" Yelled Mr. Tsukino. Sammy opened the door and he shut it again with a crash. Everyone looked over at the door curiously, and he breathed heavily as he held it shut when something on the other side pounded on the door. Sammy looked terrified beyond wildest dreams. "Sammy! Who is it? What's wrong? Tell us!" Serena screamed. "It's a giant flock of black birds!" "What!" "Don't be such a baby Serena. It's Raye. And a guy." Serena's jaw dropped. Sammy opened the door and ran from Serena's clutches. But Serena caught him before he was able to escape. Serena's mother let in the guests. It was Darien, and Raye; they watched amusingly as Serena held Sammy between her legs, and in a headlock. Sammy was screaming for Serena to let go, but Serena persisted onward, not even noticing that there were guests there. Someone in the back round coughed and cleared his throat. Serena stopped what she was doing and took a look. There stood Darien, and Raye. Darien who had his hand covering over his mouth. Sammy looked too and looked at Serena, who was being gazed at with two sets of eyes. One set though was grinning from ear to ear, and his charm for not saying anything was unmistakable. "You are the guy who kissed Serena not too long ago!" Sammy said pointing. Darien's, Serena's, Raye's, and Mr. Tsukino's eyes went wide. Darien, and Serena blushed furiously, as Raye looked at them at different times, eyeing them each with shock. Serena's father on the other hand, was getting angrier and angrier by the second. His eyes bulged out from his head, as Serena's mother covered his mouth so that his shouting was not too loud. Serena dropped her head totally embarrassed, and let go of Sammy. He laughed and quickly ran away. Serena's father took his wife's hand away from his mouth and screamed at Darien. "Assaulter! I'll have you arrested! Get out! NOW!" Darien ran out of the home in a flash. Raye, who was still gaping at the place where Darien stood and at Serena, was about to burst. Serena stood up and looked at the shocked Raye, and then to her father. Then to her brother. Sammy had secretly hid behind Serena's father, he was laughing to himself. "Sammy, I am going to get you!" "What's this about you lip locking with this guy, that was just in this home!?" Mr. Tsukino said. "I, uh, it's not, uh…" Serena stammered. Then Sammy started to say something again. "Yeah, and why were you dreaming about him last night?" "I wasn't!" "Yeah right! You were saying "oh, Darien. I love you too, I'll always be by your side." And then you would sigh. Don't deny it. I heard you in your sleep. You were on the couch, you were too lazy to go in your room where it was safe." "Sammy, shut up! I do not talk in my sleep!" Serena yelled. "YOU! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!" Mr. Tsukino said pointing to Serena. "You can't be serious Ken." Serena's mother said. "Not, forever…just until…I get the facts straight, I told you honey, I DON'T WANT HER TO DATE ANYONE UNTIL SHE IS SEVENTEEN!" "It's not even a year away! It's not even a month away! How can you say that Ken!?" She said. Serena silently crept out of the house unnoticed except to Raye who was right behind her. Once outside she slid her body down the door in vain, and let the tears come trailing down her cheeks. She rested her head on her knees as she was watched by Raye, and Darien. Darien looking upon her in pity and Raye was still in total shock, so she had no idea what to do, or say to Serena. Suddenly, the door from behind Serena opened, and Serena went flying backwards onto the light blue carpet. She smelled rotten eggs. She smelled, Sammy's feet. "Sorry, about that Serena, didn't know that Dad was there listening in." Serena sat back up trying to hide her tear stripped face, and once again her head was on her knees. The white wooden door was once again closed behind Serena. Raye, who had finally come out of shock sat down next to Serena, and put her arm around her shoulders, to try and comfort her. Darien also sat down next to Serena, but did and said nothing. But Serena did not want any of their pity, or sorrow. She just wanted to be alone. The next thing Darien, and Raye knew was that Serena was running away to the side of her house, and that's where she disappeared. Raye, and Darien followed her of course, but by the time they were on the other side of the home Serena was gone. She just vanished into thin air. Darien scratched his head in wonder, and looked at Raye. Raye was staring at Darien accusingly, and Serena could see her face boil. Serena had jumped up into the nearest tree and started to climb, ! ! before they reached the other side of the house, that was why she could see Raye's face gleaming a bright red. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ e-mail me at milky_way173@ix.netcom.com
