ROYAL FLUSH THE SEQUEL- PROLOGUE Six girls sat around a table in the living room of Andrew’s house. First it was Raye, then Amy, then Rita, then Serena, then Lita and then Mina. “Okay, 5-card draw, deuces wild, no strings attached and there’s no limit on the bets.” Raye said as she begun to deal the cards out to everyone. They all looked at their hands. When they heard a cheering from the other room. “Men and there stupid sports.” Lita grumbled. Raye smiled slightly at what she had. ‘This is going to be fun this round!’ She thought. Amy looked at her hands and begun carefully calculating the odds as to what she could receive. Rita was starring at her pitiful hand. ‘If I didn’t know any better I’d think Raye purposely deals me these terrible hands!’ Serena studied her hand. ‘There’s no way I could get it. It’s impossible...is it?’ She thought about the possibility and decided to chance it. Lita looked at the cards in her hand. She felt confident that she had a VERY good hand this time. Last Mina looked at hers, grinning, but she tried to hide it. ‘Ohhh, no one has a chance again me and this hand!’ “Okay ladies, toss out your bets, starting with Mina.” Raye said. Mina looked at everyone, and reached her hands behind her neck and pulled off her necklace. “I bet my 14-karot antique ruby necklace.” Mina said as she laid it on the table. “But Mina! You can’t!” Amy said. “Raye said there’s no limits on the bets, so this is what I bet. I feel lucky tonight!” Mina grinned, hoping that they would back out, but no one did. Instead they just sat there looking at each other. “I don’t have nothing like that!” Raye said. The others shook their heads in agreement. Suddenly Serena got an evil glint in her eyes. She cleared her throat and yelled in a sing-song voice: “Oh Darien. Would you come in here for a minute?” The other’s grinned when they realized what Serena’s was doing. Rita cleared her throat next. “And would the rest of you guys come in here too?” “Yeah, what is it? You lucky it’s half time.” Darien said, walking over to his girlfriend. “Muffin, can I bet you?” Serena said, looking up at him with her baby blue eyes. “What?” Came Darien’s reply. “Please? I need something of value to me, but I don’t have anything like Mina’s necklace.” Serena explained. “Oh, what is this pay-back for the last game?” Andrew said after Rita had ask him to be betted. Lita was asking Ken, Raye was asking Chad and Amy was asking Gregg. Finally all the guys agreed. “So, what’s the deal?” Gregg asked. “Same thing as last time. Who ever wins gets the guys as there slaves for a whole week.” Raye said. Everyone threw out the cards that they didn’t want. Raye gave them the cards that they needed and they all looked at their cards. Slowly everyone laid down their hands. Raye had a pair of aces, Amy had two pair of 7’s and 8’s, Rita and Mina both had full houses: Rita with two 3’s, and three 5’s, and Mina with two 9’s and three 4’s. Lita had a flush... 2,4,5,7,king of spades. Serena looked at everyone who had laid down their cards. Slowly she started to lay down hers. First her 10 of hearts, then the Jack of hearts. Next came the queen of hearts and the fourth one was the king of hearts. Everyone was looking at the cards and then their eyes went up to the final card in her hand. Slowly her smile was replaced by a sad look. “Sorry Muffin. I thought I’d win.” Serena apologized. Mina started to grin, thinking she had it won. Then Serena laid down her final card in the middle of the table. “A royal flush doesn’t beat a full house does it?” Serena asked, and evil grin speeding across her face. Laying in the center of the table was none other than the ace of hearts. Then she burst out laughing. Everyone else just stood there looking at the cards Serena had. “How in the world?” Amy muttered. “That does it. There is something strange about them two!!” Raye spat out. “How did they do that?” “Just fate I guess.” Serena shrugged. She grinned at Darien and Darien started laughing. He hugged her and whispered in her ear. “Think it’s a sign or something? First I win you with a royal flush of hearts and win your heart, and now you’ve won me with a royal flush.” Darien cracked. “Maybe now I can win your heart.” Serena whispered back. “Too late, you had it won long before this.” “Hey lovebirds! You can take that outside later!” Lita joked. Mina just looked around sadly, realizing that she had just lost her necklace that had been in her family for years. Serena turned to face everyone. “Well, well, well. Looks like I have quite a few nice slaves for me this week. But there is one thing that I’m not gonna keep.” Serena said, after noticing the look on Mina’s face. “Here ya go. I don’t’ really need this necklace, so you can have it back.” Serena handed it to Mina, but she shook her head no. “No, it was my bet.” Mina said. Serena walked over to her and put it in her hands. “Mina, I owe you this. If you hadn’t agreed to bet me in the game two weeks ago, then I would never gotten Darien. I owe you big time girl.” Serena said quietly to Mina. Mina took the necklace back and said her thanks to Serena. Serena turned to face everyone. “Well boys, I’ll see you tomorrow at, let’s say, 11:30 okay? I don’t like getting up early, so that should be perfect. And no one better get there late, understand.” Serena looked at everyone. “If you need directions to my house I can give them to you.” Gregg, Chad and Ken had no clue where Serena lived, so she gave them directions. Andrew and Darien already knew though. “I’ll see you all bright and not-so-early tomorrow. Bye then!” Serena waved good-bye to everyone and she and Darien left early. *So, how did you all like that??? Please, please, PLEASE write me and tell me what you thought about it!!!!
