Enjoy my story! Chapter 6: A Destiny, a Fate, Finally Realized Serena couldn't remember feeling more alone, except maybe that whole...storm thing... Here she was, in the hospital, the smell of the hospital food lingering around that she knew she'd have to eat and to make it worse, there was absolutely nothing on TV. She didn't even want to think of the fact that she was scared. She hated unfamiliar places, which was a little known secret that she didn't exactly want to be known. So here she sat on the verge of tears all alone in her hospital room. Though much to her surprise and delight she heard a slight tap on her door. She looked over curiously and called out. "Umm..Hello, is someone there...?" The door opened slowly to someone with dark ebony hair rushed in and shut the door quickly behind him. "Darien?!" Serena practically screeched out in happiness, she wasn't alone anymore and she was with Darien, the one who said...he loved he. "Shhhhhhh..." Darien ordered to her as he smiled bringing a bouquet of deep red roses out from behind his back. "Surprise Serena." He said as he smiled inwardly at her happy reaction to his arrival. Serena smiled brightly and blushed inwardly at the love Darien's eyes shown so intensely. She felt so happy, yet scared and nervous at the same time. She had cared about him so much, and she now knew that he cared for her...what was next...? He couldn't imagine a more joyous feeling in his entire life, he was with Serena, she was happy to see him, and he knew now, the truth that she loved him, and he had finally admitted he loved her as well...what was next...? Darien and Serena stared at each other nervously, a slight blush creeping up on both of their cheeks as the smiled to each other. Serena took his roses happily and smelled the deep sweet scent of roses the in turned blushed up to Darien who was watching her in intense interest as she did so. ~Did he always look at me like that when I wasn't looking...did I just not notice?~ Serena wondered silently to herself. "Darien...it's after hours, how did you get in here?" Serena asked curiously looking up at Darien. "Well..." Darien smiled as he nervously brought his hand up behind his head and a slight sweatdrop could be seen on his brow. "I kind of...sneaked in...I didn't think you'd want to be alone in an awful place like this and I wanted to make sure you were really alright, I didn't get to talk to you much when we all were here earlier..." "Except you did say something Darien..." Serena interrupted as she looked down into her hands as she sat in her hospital bed and gown. "You said more then enough..." Serena blushed. "Yeah..." Darien said as more uneasiness washed over him. ~But it was worth it to see the light in your eyes...Serena...~ Darien thought silently to himself, not wanting to say it out loud for fear of making her uneasy. She sat down on her bed once again and picked up her roses. She smiled at them and let her finger run along some of the Soft, silken petals and inhaled their sweet scent once more before laying them on her bed side table and smiling up to Darien once again. "I'm glad you came Darien..." Serena said nervously as she looked back down at her own hands and began to fidget. Darien lifted her face up with the tip of his finger and drew it across her jaw line causing Serena to stiffen and give a slight yelp to escape her lips as she forced herself to look into his intense sapphire gaze. He smiled at her gently and she blushed in spite of herself. "Don't look down Serena...we've...been though a lot today... I just want to spend some time with you...and talk, about what has happened today." He said. "Listen, you should lay back down and rest and I'll sit next to you and we'll talk until you fall asleep, is that alright with you?" He questioned. Serena nodded slowly not exactly sure of what to say and did as she was asked letting her head fall back onto her pillow. Darien pulled her blankets gently up to her neck, tucking her in as if she were a young child, which she very much appeared to be. He smiled down at her for a moment, aching to press his lips to her soft skin and her soft pink lips, but he pulled a nearby chair to her bedside and reached out and held her hand. He wasn't going to scare her, not when he was this close to having her... He knew she was young, he was much older, maybe this was all wrong, but why did it all feel so right... Darien looked up her lovingly. She was like a little angel. She looked so frail, so innocent, why did someone so perfect, so angelic have to be kept away in this awful place...at least it was for just the night...and he could stay with her to make sure she was alright. "Darien...?" Serena whispers out after a long silence had pervaded over them. "Yes...Serena?" He asked her looking up into her soft blue eyes. "Did...did you mean what you said...earlier today...when you said you loved me..." She asked as she looked up at him innocently. "I meant every word Serena...I love you more then anything in the entire world...I was afraid you'd hate me if I told you..." Darien stated while looking down in slight shame. He had always hated showing any weakness, but he couldn't help but trust this little pixie sitting every so innocently before him with her tiny hand in his. "Darien...I felt the exact same way...I guess I was afraid to tell you...that you'd laugh at me...or stop talking to me..." Serena said weakly. "I'd rather argue with you then never speak again..." ~Such a sweet and feeling little angel...how can I love anything more then I do her...I want to hold her so much...~ Darien thought to himself but he decided that he would leave that be for awhile while his sweet bunny healed. He let himself be happy with a slight squeeze of her hand as she smiled an enchanting smile down to him that almost made his heart stop. ~Breathtaking...~ He thought to himself and smiled back to her. ~Look at him...he's so nervous...it's absolutely adorable, I can't wait to feel what it's like to be in his arms...I don't know if I could ever have imagined him holding my hand like this...or looking at me...with so much emotion...I feel like I'm about to cry...~ Serena thought weakly to herself, and sure enough, a few stray tears escaped her eyes. "Serena...what is it..." Darien asked, confusion crossing every feature across his face. He stood up and kissed away her tears gently and looked down into her surprised eyes, her softly blushing ivory face. "I'm...I'm sorry Serena..." Darien paused... "I shouldn't have..." Before he could finish his sentence Serena had sat up slightly and wrapped her arms around him surprising him. "Don't say your sorry Darien...anything but your sorry...and I'm fine Darien, I'm just so, so happy." She smiled up to him as he allowed his arms to encircle her, pulling her closely. "As am I Serena..." He said as he brushed his lips across hers and gently allowing his lips to linger, as to slightly taste her lips. She tasted of a light strawberry...he hungered to devour her lips, but he pulled away gently. ~She's to weak for this right now~ Darien spoke to himself. He looked down into her dazed, still slightly closed eyes as they began to open again, a small blush crept across her cheeks. "Now it's time to talk my little bunny.." He smiled down to her and she giggles softly. "My little bunny?" She giggled again. "If you wouldn't mind that..." He smiled. "No...I don't think I'd mind that at all..." Serena said quietly. "Then I suppose it's time to talk about all this" He said gently. "Yes..." Serena said, her blush once again becoming apparent on her cheeks. He sat back down at her bedside and they talked for the rest of the night about everything. Their fears about telling each other their own feelings, their pasts, sad and happy, the many other secrets they had kept from each other, and much much more. "Well...when I was about six...my parents and I were in a terrible car accident. Both of my parents were killed. The doctors told me my name was Darien, though...they had never been quite sure that was my actual name. I can't really remember my parents...it's kind of always been a sore subject for me, but somehow I felt I could trust you..." Serena smiled to him through slightly tear stained eyes. "I'll always be here if you'd like to talk Darien...it means a lot that you trust me enough to tell me something like that..." Serena spoke truthfully. Darien smiled at her tenderly as he felt himself on the verge of tears, but he wiped away Serena's tears, not of pity, but of caring and compassion. He hated to be pitied, which was one of the reasons he rarely told anyone the secrets of his past, at least the past that he remembered... He let his hand remain on her cheek for a moment and stared into her eyes. Beautiful...a clear crystal blue...gleamed slightly from her crying. His heart reached out to her soft kind soul which weeped for his and reached out to comfort him. With that thought through his head she threw her arms around his neck and hugged him close. "Darien, thank you for telling me.." Serena whispered tiredly. "Anytime Sere..." He responded tenderly. Serena blushed softly and they continued their talk. ~An hour later...~ "...not very many people know about this fear, but I really can't stand hospitals, and I'm a little scared of doctors..." Serena confessed timidly. "That's alright Serena, a lot of people are kind of afraid of hospital's and things, I understand completely, I'm just glad I was able to come and keep you company, did my presence make your stay here a little bit more bearable?" Serena blushed again and smiled "actually it did Darien... thank you so much for coming...I can't think of anyone I'd rather be with right now..." Serena said as she bit her lip slightly. "I can't think of any better company myself..." He said slowly as he looked up at Serena and they smiled to one another, a secret smiled that would forever...only be their own... They talked deep into the night until Serena's eyes finally fell shut and Darien sat up slowly and kissed her forehead. He stood up silently watching her sleep for a few minutes, then he took his coat and walked silently out into the abandoned hospital corridors and out into the late darkness of the night with a new light filling his lonely and longing heart. ~New Day~ She woke up slowly and stretched out mumbling sleepily. "Darien..." She then blinked a few times looking around the room curiously as bright sunshine poured into the room. ~What a beautiful day.~ Serena thought happily to herself. ~I get to go home today and leave this awful place, I get to see my friends again, oh...and the best part...I get to see Darien...~ Serena smiled dreamily and a glazed look crossed her face as she brought her hand slowly across her lips smiling softly. ~He kissed me...the dream...that I've been wanting to come true for so long, he kissed me...and it was wonderful...so gentle...~ Serena smiled and pulled herself up from under her covers and swung her feet over the side of the hospital bed. She watched her feet dangle above the ground for a few minutes as she remembered the previous night and continued to smile absently to herself. She hopped out of her bed and slid on a pair of hospital slippers next to her bed and pulled on a robe. She felt a new energy now, and she felt great. She looked at a clock on the table beside her bed and it read 10:04 AM. She smiled. ~Wow, I even got up earlier then usual!~ Serena smiled brightly to herself. A young nurse came in the room and smiled at Serena who was looking out a large window that looked out over the hospital parking lot. "Well, nice to see you up and moving around, I was coming to see if you needed anything." The nurse said politely and smiling. "Oh...I'm fine...but I'd really love some breakfast." Serena said practically licking her lips. "Oh, I think we can handle that." Laughed the nurse. "What would you like?" She asked. "Well hmmm...I guess I'll have some..." Serena thought to herself. "Some...pancakes, some sausage...ooooh, and bacon too, oh, can you guys make me some waffles too, with ice cream on top, I love it that way! Hmmm, some scrambled eggs...Oh! And some orange juice, and milk too!" Serena said, her mouth practically drooling. "And I guess that's it for now!" Serena finished. The nurse looked at her in shock, her mouth slightly agape and in complete and utter shock and, almost, disgust. "You..you want all that...at once, this morning?" The nurse stuttered. "Of Course" Serena said seriously as a slight blush colored her cheeks. "Umm...but, lowfat milk..." Serena said flatly. ~Whew...the nurse must think I'm a *major* pig, but I'm so hunger, that lowfat milk should make me look a little better...~ Serena thought hopefully to herself. The nurse lifted her eyebrow slightly studying the young, petite Serena and shook her head. "Alright...coming up..." The nurse thought hopelessly to herself as she laid Serena's clothing on a chair next to her bed and walked out of her hospital room. Serena immediately jumped to her cloths after the nurse had completely left the room and went to her hospital bathroom and showered. It felt good to shower, with so much on her mind...so many beautiful thoughts running through her head about her future. She blushes slightly and cursed herself for thinking of her future with Darien so soon. She let her mind melt into her shower until she felt like she had become one with the hot water is it re-energized her body. After her shower Serena stepped out and dried off, making sure to get her hair a thoroughly dry as she could. Then she dressed and tied her hair in it's usual odango fashion and smiled at herself in the mirror. If yesterday with Darien...hadn't all been a dream...then she was the luckiest girl in the world, and she knew it and she just couldn't wait to prove to herself that it wasn't all just some beautiful dream. She was going to see Darien, and she had to see him today. When Serena stepped out of the hospital bathroom she smelled a delicious array of foods and smiled as she looked over to her bedside and say an awesome arrangement of food piled up high on a trap. She smiled greedily and jumped onto her bed and began to seriously pig out. ~Have to get my strength up before I see Darien~ Serena thought to herself as she began to giggle and stare off dreamily. She finished off almost everything on her tray except for some dry toast and some quite indigestible bacon that had been a little to well done even for her very open taste. Serena wiped her mouth with her napkin slightly and hoped off of her bed. She put her hands on her hips and looked around the room. ~Now what...~ She thought to herself. Just as she began to debate on how she was to get out of this detestable hospital her door opened and in walked the doctor and her parents. "Mom, Dad!" Serena beamed happily as both of her parents hugged her. "We're so glad your okay honey" Her mother smiled. "It's time to go home now, we already checked you out, are you ready to go sweety?" Her dad asked patiently. "Yes!" Serena said happily. "But first..." Serena's Doctor began as she smiled at her patient "it's time for you to take some of your medicine, and don't let me see you in here for awhile" Finished the doctor as she winked at Serena and handed her her medication. "No problem..." Serena said with a sweatdrop as she walked over to her food tray and took a sip of water and swallowed her pills obediently. Though she couldn't help, but make a slight face as she finished up her medicine. "Let's go home momma" Serena said as she looked at her mom with a look of *get me the heck out of here, I'm about to go insane* "Alright dear, let's get you home" Her mom said. "Get your things sweetheart" Her father told her. Serena walked around her room and grabbed her windbreaker then grabbed her roses. Her parents looked at her wide eyed as slight look of worry and anger crossed her father's face. "Where did you get those Serena??" He asked impatiently. "Oh daddy...they're just from a friend..." Serena said in all truth and then some. She then walked out of her hospital room with her father still looking suspicious and her mother still trying to calm him down. ~Serena's House~ Back at home Serena rested for a little while, watching a little TV, daydreaming about Darien...and of course who could forget, she ate a rather large lunch. She polished off everything on her plate. She had had two grilled cheese sandwiches, a large bowl of chicken noodle soup, a bowl of fresh strawberries and a tall glass of chocolate milk. ~Man, I was totally famished, I feel like I haven't eaten for days~ Serena lied to herself trying to make herself justified for eating so much. After lunch Serena ran upstairs to her room, picking up outfit after outfit trying to decide what to wear to the arcade. Usually it wasn't as important what she wore to the arcade, considering she was there so often, but this time she wanted to look her best... I mean...she wasn't used to going all out for someone, but if she was to try to look her best for a guy, then it would definitely be Darien. She decided that her pink jumper with a soft bunny embroidered on the pocket, with a simply white under shirt would work nicely. She smiled vainly at herself in the mirror, re-doing her Odango's and adding a little baby's breath flowers to her hair to add a slight affect and she glided her strawberry lip gloss across her lips looked at her reflection quite pleased with what she saw. She proceeded to grab her small pink purse and rushed out of her room down the stairs and to her front door... "Mom! I'm going to the arcade!" Serena yelled as she open her front door. "Alright sweety, but you be careful and don't be out to late, oh, and call if you're feeling weak and you'd like a ride home from the arcade!" "Alright Momma, thank you!" Serena yelled as she skipped out into the glorious sunshine and began her walk to the arcade.
