Part 2

I looked at my watch
hoping it was late
enough for me to 
make an excuse.  It
was 8.  Hmm, wasn't
I supposed to do 
something at eight?
Damn, I'm supposed
to be at Raye's for
a sailor meeting!
"Darien, uh, I have
to go.  I'm late!
See ya later, okay?"
"Wait, Serena!"
But by the time he 
said it, I was out
the door and running
to the temple.
"She's gonna kill me!
Man, Serena, think of
a good excuse."
I finally got to the
stairs that led up to
the temple.  I caught
my breath before I
walked up them.  
Maybe Raye won't know 
what time it was, yeah
right.  When I reached
the top, I didn't see 
any lights on.
"That's strange, where
is everyone?  I can't
possibly be EARLY, can
I?"
I approached the door
hoping I could see Raye
or Chad or even Grandpa
inside.  All I found
was a note taped to the 
door. It said:
"Serena, I tried to call
saying that the meeting
was cancelled, but you 
weren't home.  Grandpa
decided to drag Chad and 
me to the mountains this
morning.  See ya later,
Meatball Head!"
I couldn't believe it.
I ran all the way across
town to get here late 
and it's CANCELLED!  I
walked back down the 
stairs sullenly.  Now I 
don't even get to spend
tonight with my friends,
this was depressing.  
Can my weekend get any 
worse?  I soon found out.
Just when I thought that, 
a crack of lightning shot
across the night sky
followed by the deafening
roar of thunder.
"AAAAAAA!!! I hate 
thunderstorms!!  Since
when does Tokyo get 
thunderstorms in the
winter anyway?!?!"  I
wailed as I ran through 
the rain.
It was pouring down so 
hard, I could barely
see my hand in front of
my face.  Then I felt
something grab my wrist.
"AAAAAA!!! LEMME GO!!!"
I kicked whomever or 
whatever it was and ran 
for my life.  God my foot
hurt; I must have kicked
pretty damn hard.  I had 
to hide somewhere and get
out of the rain before 
whoever that was found me.
I saw an apartment building
at the end of the block.
"Good, there's people there.
They'll hear me scream if
that creep finds me."
As I bolted towards the
building, I looked back
to see if anyone was 
following me.  I saw a 
dark figure hobbling 
after me.
"Oh my god, what do I
do?"
I finally got to the 
building , and I slammed
the door behind me.  I saw
the figure approaching me 
still.  I ran up the stairs
because I thought the 
creepy silhouette would 
think I took the elevator. 
I raced up the steps, but I 
slipped due to my soaking, 
wet shoes.  I must have hit
my head on a stair because
all I remember is seeing
something red trickle 
through my blurred vision,
and then everything went 
black.
