Hi, minna! First off I want to give thanks to my pal, Mako-chan, who supports my crazy writing. And to all of you who are waiting for Ch. 7 of "Rewind", it will be out soon. Meanwhile, check out our other stories! I also want to give thanks to Alicia Blade for helping me out with this story, and for posting this on her awesome site. Go there and read her stories! They are *the* best on the net. I also want to admit that I don't own Sailor Moon. *sigh* And here you all thought that Naoko Takeuchi stole the idea from me.... "What's New, Usagi?" Ch. 2 by: Sailor Starlite Usagi smiled happily as she trotted to Rei's temple. For once, she had passed a test that Haruna-sensei had given, and it was all due to Mamoru-san's tutoring! She didn't think that anyone could help her. Nobody had the patience...speaking of patience, Rei was going to run out of hers if she was anymore late. She sped towards the temple, hoping that the fire priestess wouldn't be *too* angry with her. "Usagi-chan! You're late again!" Rei shouted, and Usagi just stuck her tounge out at her, too happy to argue today. "Gomen, Rei-chan. I know I'm late. But guess what! I passed Haruna-sensei's exam!" She gleefully said, and was met by smiles. "Good job, Usagi-chan." Luna said, then cleared her throat. "Now, let's get down to business. Usagi-chan, have you figured out anything new about the crystal? I saw you looking at it the other night." Usagi blushed. "Iie, Luna. It was just...intresting to look at in the moonlight." She finished lamely, hoping they would buy it. Ami shook her head. "Okay, Usagi-chan. I have researched more on our enemies, going back as far as my computer can trace it, and I see that they had destroyed the Earth before, only to be defeated. And here they are again." Usagi nodded thoughtfully, chewing on her bottom lip. "We shouldn't have to worry, with Tuxedo Kamen on our side!" She said, and the others exchanged looks. "Usagi-chan," Makoto began, "We do not know if Tuxedo Kamen is truly on our side. He shows up enough to save us, but it gone again. What if he is just trying to gain our trust, then strike at us? He may be with the enemy!" Usagi shook her head firmly. She remembered that kiss at the Diamond Embassy Ball...it was so magical...so perfect, like she had experienced it before.... She was snapped out of her reminising when the other Senshi spoke up. Rei was first. "Mako-chan is right, Usagi-chan. We know nothing about him." "Just be careful around him, Usagi-chan." Minako whispered, knowing that above all, nothing could ever, EVER harm their princess. She would see herself die first. Usagi shrugged. "Is this meeting over, minna? I have another tutoring lesson with Mamoru-san, and I could really use his help on this assignment." The other girls made remarks while Usagi blushed, and tried to make excuses, before finally flying out the door. Mamoru waited patiently for Usagi to come. She had mentioned that she had to stop by her friends temple to do something before she came here, but he hoped she would be here soon. He didn't know why he looked foward to her coming so much. She was just a child, but so filled with sunshine and laughter! His doorbell rang at that moment, and he answered it to see Usagi on the other side of the door, grinning up at him, holding her school bag. "All ready, Mamoru-san!" She chirped happily, and Mamoru couldn't help but smile at her exhuberence. "What has got you so happy today, Usagi-chan?" He asked. She pulled out a crisp looking piece of paper out of her bag and handed it to him proudly. "This is the reason, Mamoru-san!" He looked at the test and saw the high score. "99%? That is *very* good. I guess you don't need me as your tutor anymore, with such high scores." He teased, and she shook her head. "Iie, Mamoru-san! With your help, I can continue to get good grades like this! Please say you'll keep being my tutor, Mamoru-san." She pleaded. Mamoru acted as if he was thinking about something serious here, then he finally nodded. Usagi squealed and ran into his arms, giving him a huge hug. And that was when he realized he had fallen for her. By the time that Usagi had arrived at her house, it was suppertime. Her mother looked at her curiously. "So, Usagi, how did the test go?" She had been pleased by the passing quiz grade that she had gotten, and hoped the test went equally well. Usagi smiled, and held out the test paper. "Look, Mama, I got a 99%! Mamoru-san is the best tutor! He hasn't given up on me yet, and look what happened!" Ikuko was very pleased. "Very good, Usagi. I think that warrants a piece of my lemon pie after dinner." Usagi could only grin bigger, and gave her mom a huge hug. She made the best lemon pies in the whole world. ~~Usagi's Dream~~ Usagi looked around her, confused to where she could be. There was a shadowy figure in front of her, and he felt familiar somehow. "Who's there?" She asked, and the figure stepped closer. She could not make out his features, and when he spoke even his voice sounded distorted. "Serenity...so I finally get to see you again." Usagi was confused. Who was Serenity? She decided to tell this person, whoever they were, that they had the wrong person. "Gomen nasai, but my name is Tsukino Usagi...it is not Serenity." She turned to leave (to where?) and was stopped by a chuckle. "I know, Serenity. You do not remember yet. But remember that I love you." With that, Usagi woke up. ~~End Dream~~ Usagi sat up in bed, a name appearing in her mind for the shadowy figure that had spoken. "Endymion..." Luna heard this too, and she observed her young charge, so close to remembering her past. But why did Endymion have to be the first? She hoped that she wouldn't remember much more--especially her love for him. ~~~~~~~~~~~ The Next Day ~~~~~~~~~~~ Mamoru sat at the counter in the arcade, drinking a cup of coffee. He had another dream last night of Serenity...asking him to find her...that she always loved him.. He sighed. He knew he loved Serenity, or had loved Serenity....but for some reason he was feeling more and more connected to Usagi--she was real, and the princess was a dream. Sometimes he wondered if the princess was just the one thing in life that had kept him from going crazy--and now Usagi was filling the void. He sipped his coffee again thoughtfully. He couldn't wait to see her again. Usagi was walking towards the arcade, hoping to get a game in to get her mind off of her dream. She was unsure of what feelings she had for him. Endymion...she felt a connection...She shook her head, thinking that she was crazy. She looked at Luna on her shoulder, wondering if the cat knew anything. "Luna, does the name Endymion ring a bell? I had a strange dream last night..." Luna looked up at her, concern in her eyes. "I...I don't know, Usagi-chan. Maybe you knew him during the Silver Millinnium. It is a good thing that some of your memories are resurfacing. It will be good when we have to fight the Dark Kingdom." Usagi nodded absently, and then walked into somebody. "Gomen!" She exclaimed, not seeing who she had ran into. Luna was making choking sounds, and Usagi finally looked up to see a scaly green creature with red eyes, and she fought off the instinct to scream or transform on the spot. She silently prayed that she wouldn't die today. Mamoru was just walking out of the arcade when he saw the youma, and Usagi trapped by it. By the look of things, there was no time to transform to save her. He acted on instinct, throwing himself in front of the youma and dragging Usagi to safety. Surprisingly, she didn't scream, she seemed to be focused on something. He quickly turned to see if the youma was okay, and when he turned back, Usagi was leaning aganist the wall, quickly putting something back in her school bag. "Usagi-chan? Dajiobou?" (gomen if i mispelled, people!) She nodded quickly, a smile on her face. "Arigato, Mamoru-kun. You saved my life. If it wasn't for you, I would still be frozen to the spot, or youma-food by now." His eyes got serious. "I couldn't let that happen to you, Usagi-chan! You're one of my friends." They both turned their heads when they heard a high-pitched screaming and some rather profane words, which signaled the end of the youma. Usagi was glad that the Senshi arrived to defeat the youma. It would be too hard with Mamoru there, protecting her. She looked at him again, and gave him a hug. He looked surprised, but pleased. "Arigato, again, Mamoru-kun! But I have to get going now. It's safe, the senshi defeated them. Without a backwards glance she was gone, leaving Mamrou wondering what it would be like to truly be her friend. I know, I know, not much romance yet, but bear with me. There *are* hints of it, and chapter three should have some more--due to a very important scene that will be in it. I would love *ALL* comments, good or bad at JupiterLightning@yahoo.com. Arigato, Alicia, for posting this for me! Read her stuff! It is *the* best!
